Does vaping indoors create lingering odors or film?

I didn't think vaping created odors or film, but was distressed to run across this post by Boodle in one of the threads here:

I'd vote for a vaping area where there would be air filtration. It does cause an odor, especially VG vapor. It's not 1/1000th as offensive as cigarettes but the anti-smoking zealots would smell it at the first sight of vapor. I vaped Nhaler's 100% PG liquid the first few months and I couldn't smell any bad odor. My office and car started smelling musty when I switched to higher VG juices. I enjoy the thick heavy vapor that VG produces but it does cause an odor and a film on eyeglasses, computer screens, windshields and such. Inexpensive air filtration solves the issue. I never noticed it at home because we have air purifiers (big animal lovers, lots of dander). it's not a big deal but the anti-smoking police would make it one.

Does vaping really leave odors and a film on stuff? My nose doesn't detect any musty smells, but it's certainly not in peak sniffing shape these days so I can't rely on that.

And I can't see any film anywhere, but I've only been at this a little over a week and haven't been looking for film. Is it hard to clean? Does this stuff soak into sofas and rugs and clothes? Walls?

Is vaping going to create a new not-so-fresh feeling to replace my smokey stick problem?? :(

Some stronger flavors can linger in exhaled vapor. What I like to do is when I try a new flavor, I ask someone to take a whiff of the vapor I exhale and see if they can make out the flavor. The flavors that they can smell are ones that I note not to use in confined spaces. However, even if they can smell the flavor, I know that the scent is gone as fast as the vapor is.

Personally have noticed no odors or films of any type. Have obtained no adverse comments about odors from others that visit/move by places where I may have vaped. I predominately vape PG based liquids by do occasionally use VG based. But will be interested in comments of others on the issue. Could be the case that the orders of magnitude improvement compared to cigs makes us not notice the comparative small problems of e-cig vape. It does seem possible that some flavors, some mixes, might be more objectionable (to others) than other flavors/mixes.

If the house smells like vanilla or caramel or licorice for a little while, like right after vaping it, I'm ok with that. I LIKE vanilla and caramel and licorice. Even all at the same time.

I'm more concerned if the vapor seeps into stuff and leaves a post-vaping mustiness or whatever kind of odor that is "off" or just plain bad (and that I can't detect seeing as my detector isn't functional!).

I have not detected any film, in my car or home. I'm pretty sure home cooking does more damage, damn I gotta give that up!

Take out menus and a phone solve that problem!

I vape all VG liquids and have been vaping for 7 months. I notice no film on anything and no lingering musty odors. even after running my fingers over my monitor, there is nothing. :)

I vape all dya in my little office space , I have not detected any lingering scents , or any film on my computer screen . So I , for one , would have to say no , to that .

Oh, hooray!

I'll have to give that computer screen test a try.

High VG creates heavy clouds of vapor. It does leave a musty smell over time - nothing like a nasty cigarette odor. I vaped 100% PG for the first few months with no odor in my car even with windows rolled up (I didn't smoke real cigs in my house or car). I noticed after vaping 70/30 VG/PG juices those places were smelling musty and I needed to clean my computer screen and glasses more often. An air filter took care of it. I run it when I vape and use PG in my car. I've always had a keen sense of smell even when I smoked. A lot of people may not notice it.

Is it hard to clean off? Does it get on clothes after vaping, like smoke does?

I've been vaping for over a year inside my house with no noticeable film or residue. Same for my car (although I do get a little condensation on the windows when it's cold out.....)

There will occasionally be slight odor from the vapor, but that's dependent on the flavor, not the base. All my liquids are VG, and most of the time my girlfriend doesn't notice it. But she can always tell when I have cinnamon red hots in my carto. The scent dissipates quickly and doesn't linger.

My office has a slight odor that I can notice if I've had the door closed. But I also mix my liquids in here, so I think it's the 20 different flavor bottles I have in here causing that.

I have never detected any mustiness, or lingering odors on clothing, bedding, or furniture. In the area I live in I would notice mustiness right away. It's 107F/41.6C here right now with about 22% humidity.

Now humidity I can smell. Just as I can smell the difference between a rain or thunderstorm, and even tell you when there's ice in the area, just by smell. I can also smell milk turning a day or two in advance.

When going from the living room area back into the computer room I can smell the humidity, some of the time. However, overnight this disappears as there is no odor in the mornings.

No film, I sit perhaps four feet from my computer screen and an LED light lamp with a chrome reflector. Neither the monitor or the reflector have any film on them after three month's of heavy vaping primarily at this desk.

With regards to odor, there is one thing I forgot to mention. Last year I got some strong tobacco flavors that did leave a noticeable odor. My girlfriend could smell it from across the room.

But I didn't much care for the taste of them anyway, so I stopped using them.

I have not a problem with any of my other tobacco liquids before or since.
