On some mods the USB port is the only solution for charging. IF it's a mod that has a removable battery AND a USB port for charging, I'll remove the battery if I'm at home and only use the USB port for travel charging.
I actually like USB for things like istick and the Innokin mods. It's nice to know that a bottle of juice and a cigar lighter power source will get you through a day. Most of my USB mods have an internal battery where USB is the only option.
