Do you vape 100% VG? What's your ideal device and wattage for that?

Do any of you vape 100% VG? If so, what's your ideal device and wattage for that?

I'm going to be trying some 85/15 for the first time and want to eventually try 100 VG and was wondering what's the best device and wattage for that and if the flavor profile alters that a bit.

I know everyone's different, so I'm not expecting just one answer, more so wanting to know overall what the community thinks.

My ratio is 30pg/70vg, by the time that I mix my flavors I'm around 40pg/60vg.

First you're not going to get 100% VG because 99% of the flavour concentrates out there are PG based.. however it is possible you may be able to find aqueous glycerin concentrates at the top of my head I can't think of any vendors. Some people use Aquarius glycerine in replacement of PG because some people find pg gives them some sort of allergy

If you were to use100% you would need to be looking at a product that can produce a tremendous amount of power I'd suggest around 130w+ due to VG extreme thickness. In stock coils this kind of power is very rare!

Now let's talk in a mixology sense . And you're not talking about just vaping raw vegetable glycerine .....


85/15 + 15% concentrate would give you a 70/30 mix better at the same time that would depend on what your recommendation for usage on the concentrate would be.

I personally use a 70/30 VG pg mix
Or 60/40pg VG for mtl
I do not use already mixed vg pg

Most one shot concentrates are made to a recipe that are usually mixed around the 20 to 25% Mark dependent on the manufacturer, so if you were having to use 100% VG this ratio would be roughly 80/20 or 75/25

Keep in mind this is not taking in considerations of your nicotine PG or VG content

Which should be fine for a standard sub-ohm device for example smok tfv18 coil or vaporesso gti 0.15 etc

Wow, thank you for your reply and all that valuable information.

I saw some supposed 100% VG juice already mixed and bottled from a manufacturer online, a couple different ones, all of them were way higher in price than regular juice. I don't know if it's really 100% VG though, might be 99% or however you explained in your reply.

I only want a small amount to try, like 100ml at most, and if I like it then I can go the DIY route to try and get as close to 100% as possible. I know it's unlikely, but I put a wanted ad in the classifieds to see if someone in the community possibly had a bottle they bought that they didn't use or want, that way I could try it before divulging a bunch of time and money into it.

I'm also considering vaping 100% VG base by itself, no nicotine or flavor concentrate. I thought that would be the best route to go as far as trying a for sure 100% VG juice, but I'm not aware of any other issues that it would present. The information I've seen online about vaping only VG base seems to be positive, mainly people saying it has its own sweet taste. I have a high wattage mod, so that'll help with the VG thickness you informed me of.

My whole reason in wanting to try 100% VG is because I've been feeling fatigued and thought maybe the vaping was causing some of it. I have normal tests I'm doing with my doctor but figured I can do some vaping tests on my own.

Thank you for your reply. 60/40 VGPG is what I normally vape in my dotaio tanks, 65/35 vgpg in boro tanks, 70vg/30 to 80vg/20 in everything else. 100% VG I'm yet to try.

I vape 100% vg. VG is pleasantly sweet.
Even plain vg with or without adding nic or flavoring is fine. I nab additional vg when I am out to shop (like Walmart's Equate brand, or craft store vg for baking goods).
I use it any of my assortment of mods. RTAs may sometimes not wick the thicker vg as fast as a pg mix, but it is what I prefer.
My wattage is always adjusted to taste and how pleasant I can make the vape.
Each mod and topper may be different. I do tend to RDA mech vape as a preference.
I add vg to purchased liquids if they are excessively harsh or too strong on the flavor for me.

Some folks have mentioned adding some drops of vodka or water to thin the vg. I never bothered to.

I vape max juice when I’m making my own. When I buy commercial juice which usually comes 70/30 I add about 1/3 or a 1/4 of vg to the tank just eyeballing it.

It works for me and gives me that think dense moist vape I enjoy plus the clouds I enjoy.

I guess I vape 95% VG because my flavor (5%) is PG but my nic is VG and so is the rest of the mix. For my at home mod I do 62W on a 0.4 with a dual 18650 mod. For my carry around I do 32W on a 0.5 on a single 18650. I know that math doesn't really line up but it's what works for me on those devices. I'm much more happy at home blowing clouds though.

When I mix, the only PG I use is what's already in the flavorings and nicotine. Once I add the two together, I add glycerin to the top, cap it and shake the doodoo out of it. I don't have any special wattage or anything, just vape as normal.

I vape with 100% VG and have for years - I mix my own - buying a nic base that is !00%vg and using VG to dilute. I don't add any flavorings since I like the taste of VG on it's own. I have never had a problem with it not working with any device (right now I am vaping it in a cheap SMOK NOVO2C). I have heard coils don't last as long with pure VG, but I have not made a comparison to tell if that is true. The only problem I have had is when I started using VG, some applicator bottles I had with small gauge needles had too small a hole to dispense VG quickly, I use a bottle with an 18 gauge needle and it works fine
