Do some juices have a popcorn aftertaste to anyone else?

I've noticed this with different brands and flavors of e-juice. The aftertaste is, as best I can describe it, "popcorn." (Not buttered and salted).

Unfortunately I can't recall if this was only with PG or... the other option I can't remember now.

I have a cafe mocha flavor now that has it, and I remember an apple pie that really had it.

Anyone else experienced this or are my taste buds just weird?

I've never bought "cheap" juices. Always been from Mrs T, Johnson Creek, and the like. And I don't DIY.

Mrs T while not cheap has had many issue's
I tried JC in my beginning
I would say they are different I don't know weird taste to them
Although they refunded my money

I've noticed this too, but haven't met anybody until now that feels similar. A few that taste this way for me are tpr's candied cavindesh and chair latte. I notice it less when I vape at higher voltage but its still there.

I bought a CE4-S kit from fasttech and everything that I put in those clearomizers has a popcorn taste. In ANYTHING else it's not there.

Popcorn? Not yet, but there are some juices that have this weird chemical aftertaste.

I can't recall the name now but there's a Dekang tobacco juice that has that popcorn taste. That's the only one I've come across.

I purchased some "Coconut" from Heather's. Opened it and it had a very strong popcorn smell right away. I let it steep for about a week and it never did taste like coconut........or popcorn!

Yeah, it's not the chemical taste. It's popcorn.

I don't even like popcorn much so it's extra annoying. And there seems to be no rhyme or reason.

Yes, I've had this with a few bad "tobacco" flavored juices.

Also, all of the strawberry juices I've tried have tasted like I'm trying to vape a strawberry scented candle, rather waxy.

i ordered a few from MBV recently and tried them before any steeping. i`d swear i tasted popcorn as an aftertaste in the moo juice which is a strawberry`s & cream flavor. by the next day i no longer tasted it. i always try all that i buy immediately but then leave caps off for a day and shake a few times. this was the only time i got a popcorn taste.

Are your juices diacetyl-free?

I don't know if they were/are or not. This was both three years ago, and this week. I've only found one list on here that showed which vendors are diacetyl free and I don't know how accurate/up to date it is.

But the previous poster said they tasted it from Mt Baker Vapor which IS diacetyl free, per their website

Diacetyl doesn't taste like popcorn. It tasted or more accurately "felt" like butter in ejuces. However, it was/is used in many popcorn imitation butter flavorings from the orange sticks that look like sticks of butter used in the big popcorn poppers to the powdery salty butter flavoring usually used at home. It was the workers in the plants that produced those flavorings that got the lung problems and why diacetyl is no longer contained in reputable USA ejuices (may be others but those are what I'm familiar with.) They used to be used to impart a buttery/creamy feel to the juices. Just saying... just because "popcorn" is tasted doesn't me diacetyl is present. As I said, I've tasted it in a straight tobacco blend and have seen it mentioned before as being desirable even in some tobaccos. I don't care for it though and wasted money on one. Their is absolutely no buttery/creamy feel and wouldn't be desired in a tobacco unlike a rich dessert juice where diacetyl used to be a problem and has been removed from those juices.

Yes, almost all of mine do. Some like popcorn, some like burnt popcorn. I am getting really fed up with it. I am pretty new at this, and had blamed my re-used cartos for the taste, but in new clearomizers it is still there. Very disappointing.

Someone on the MBV thread said that her juice always tasted like popcorn if it needed steeping. Maybe a good week or two or longer are needed to get this to taste like it should.
