Does anyone know what kind of filter they use? Looking to build a portable one with a USB powered computer fan

Looking at the reviews, it's nothing but snake oil. You'd be better off spending your money on a good HEPA filter system.

Yeah that's what I'm doing. Hooking a computer fan to USB power, then making a housing that'll hold the fan and the filter. I figured it was a simple dehumidifier filter.

To clear the air in a room, you're looking at values in cubic feet per minute. A USB powered fan is probably going to be in the cubic feet per year range. In other words, a USB powered fan isn't going to move squat.
