DIY Supplys in Canada

The freshness of any liquid that you get will most likely be the exact same as to the best of my knowledge all nicotine liquid comes from China and is subject to the same shipping times at some point or another.

I'd heard the same thing - I've asked a few suppliers, and they won't say except "I get it from a lab" or "Rest assured it's of good quality". I'd think being able to say "I purchase it from a lab in Toronto, they do the raw extraction on premises - my product is 100% Canadian" would be a value-add for the product, and something to be advertised, but so far nobody's stepped forward to say these things. I'd like to be proved wrong on this; if a Canadian _manufacturer_ exists, by all means lets hear about it so we can all buy Canadian.

It's pretty deceitful IMO to knowingly give out false information to shame people into buying from a particular set of vendors. It's unnecessary and it takes away from the many other valid reasons to buy from Canadian vendors.

I myself am all for Canadians buying from Canadian suppliers but my point was that to say buying nicotine liquid from a Canadian supplier means it is going to be any fresher or of better quality then buying from the US or China would be incorrect information unless someone can prove otherwise.

I'd bet that 99% of e-liquids use Chinese sourced nicotine.. that remaining 1% are up to something fishy. Calling something "fresher" might be smart marketing but its like saying a Big Mac sold in Canada is "fresher" because its sold here... the mcdonalds meat that americans and canadians eat all comes from the same Iraqi Chemical factory.

Does anyone have a report on how the "Life brand glycerin USP" vapes. I don't want to waste the last bit of nic that I have. I'm used to the NOW brand of VG. This is all I could find in a hurry...

I use the Life Brand 'Glycerin USP' from Shoppers Drug Mart in my juices. I vape 75/25 VG/PG. It vapes great, the same as any other VG I've tried. If you look at the back of the bottle, you can see that it was manufactured by Rougier Pharma. I did a search, and someone on the forums contacted Rougier directly about it, and Rougier states all of their glycerine is 100% vegetable based.

So, the Life Brand Glycerin USP is Vegetable Glycerine, even though it doesn't say it on the bottle. Only one out of four of the Shoppers' in my town carried the stuff, so not all members will be able to find it. If you can, it's a good deal and you don't have to wait for shipping.

I don't accept that our Canadian suppliers are "making a massive profit for our misfortune."

Cliffs notes: Buy your DIY juice from the USA, cut it down with cheap VG or PG. You'll save hundreds. Buy your PA flavorings in 1 ounce bottles, you'll have enough for years and it'll save you a bundle. If you have unlimited money, you can always take Rachel's advice.

As for places to buy, OP, I've heard good things on the forum about ArcticVapor and Blue Mist, but they are out of stock.

I'm also curious about the source of the nicotine used in the Canadian suppliers' DIY juices. Good discussion in here.

Thanks AYB, That info on the Life brand Glycerin was exactly what I was looking for! I've already mixed my base @25mg/ml for the next month using that particular brand. So far been vaping it for two days and am happy with it. I'm trying to switch to all VG as I have a gallon of this stuff coming in the mail for free lol. Plus my buddy seams to have a reaction from PG so I'll give him the VG with nic to see if that works.

There's no way I can do the 100 percent VG though, too thick. Just like you I'm gonna try 75 VG 25 PG or 50:50.

On the subject of CDN suppliers... My first impression when I was a noob vaper doing the math was wth also! 5 X more expensive!!

When I smoked ciggy's I rolled my own to save a penny.. pretty much costs the same anyhow just rolled looser cigs and saved a bit of money that way.

So DIY vaping was a no brainer for me. Costs pennies a day to vape and I control most of the ingredients. It's great

At least we got something from this partially hijacked post.

Since the camps are somewhat set about Canadian suppliers vs DIY savings/alternate sources, maybe a seperate thread or sticky should be started just for this topic or a modified sticky for all those questions that seem to be posted mostly by new vapors about where to get juice or alternative places (besides Canada) for buying juice.

I'd even think a "DIY How To" sticky would be good in the Canada forum even though the main forum has one since the posts always crop up here regardless.
