Also, hold the top cap next to the deck (down to where it would normally sit) and raise the coil up to the level of the hole, it looks too low...
Yes but if I raise the coil I wont be able to get that cotton on the deck. Maybe I should make a bigger coil and spaced out not micro coil. Just gotta see can I make 1.4 ohm that way so I can fire it.

You want it to wrap under the coil as well. I have been using rayon so long it is hard to get down with cotton lol. Someone else will have to chime in on cotton wicking.

How does a store bought taste on the rda?

My first three months were mostly fails and buying the wrong flavors. Then mixing stuff that seemed like it would be tasty but was just TERRIBLE. Finally I got one figured out and now I can mix most anything. What is funny is I don't like many of the flavors I mix. But others love them.
I did the same. I was buying some flavors that I thought would taste good. And I always mixed just single flavor and at the end they taste bad.
Whats the best aroma brand to use?
I use Capella and TFA and Capella is stringer but doent give me what I want. LorAnn for example pear flavor, when I mixed it in water to get idea it was soo good but when I make juice you cant even feel the flavor or its kind of weird.

Well i changed things up a bit recently and decided to stop just trying to come up with what i think will be good and find a few recipes that i know are excellent and get great ratings from a lot of people .

I have quite a few i have found around the net and took notes on . I was about to heave everything out the window and just go bowling but i gave it one last try , they actually turned out very good which is just mind boggling to me .

If you want me to send you a few let me know and let me know what kind of stuff you like.
Yes please! And please be specific about brand of aroma and percentage.
I like fruits like apple, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, cantaloupe, watermelon and whatever taste like summer Not a big fan of banana but I can do it too. I like exotic fruit.
I like custards and nutty taste. Vanila I think is my favorite!

I don't see anything wrong with how you coiled and wicked that RDA , it should work , can it be better , sure but that should work. I started with a Nimbus RDA that looks very similar and it has a very shallow deck just like the one you display .

No matter how i wicked it (followed everyones advice just like you are) i could not get it to work no matter what . Someone suggested an RDA with a much deeper well and OMG what a difference .

I have completely given up on the Nimbus because even today i can't get it to work right . I have others that offer a deep well and a different design and i would strongly encourage you to try another because for me it was a night and day difference.

I looked at the top sellers for each brand on bull city vapor as a guide. Now I own most of the top 10 for each brand. Well all really. I would advise staying away from lorann not much luck with them.

I found a custard recipe I liked and I mix lots of that. A couple simple tobaccos and am still looking for some other bakeries that I like. I don't really like fruits but I mix fruit for others. They are great for a few vapes and then they go flat on me.

What do you like?

The thing is I was reading and reading reviews on almost all flavors. I buy one they say is good and my juice turn out bad. I was like is this just marketing or Im ......ed and dont know how to do it no matter how much I read.
I like fruits, I like custards and nutty vapes. Vanilla is one of my favorite. Whiskey is good too. I like some of tobaccos but most of them dont taste good. I even found recipe with Am4a with hazelnut and I made it. That one is maybe one of my best DIY I made but its still missing something. Mostly you can feel hazelnut even if percentage was low on both like 2-3% but it leaves somehow weird aftertaste after exhale kind of metally nutty.

Hey MC Vape! I read this whole thread and I'm in the exact same boat. Same dead flavors. I'm several hundred dollars into diy liquids and I have yet to mix anything worth a darn. Mixed to suggested levels, mixed double and triple the amount of flavoring even. All I ever get is a hint of flavor. Even went the RDA route with a freak show and a velocity. Got the same burned crap metallic taste. I'm really hoping you found the magic solution!! Anything? I have also researched until my eyeballs fell out and still no good results.

Ok what I realized when I build my RBA for 20-30 puffs it taste burnt. I guess until cotton smell goes away. It was not because my coil was shorthing after a lot of puffs it dissapear.
Im still trying and my DIY is getting better but still not that good.
I realized TFA and FW are bull.... flavors. You can make something using them but I guess thats why our DIY is not that good. Capella is little better but still not good enough. I found out that the vendor I was buying juices from uses FA flavoring. They go low on % and I guess they are much better. I even think INW is good one too. So I have bunch of TFA amd FW and CAP but from now on Im just gonna experiment with FA and INW. I think thats the key and everybody is keeping that secret.
The other thing why my juices taste harsh sometimes I think is because I didnt keep my nicotine in a fridge and it got some weird taste.
Let me know what you think?

If nothing else, McVape, may I just say that as a noob who just received her new DIY kit and is reading everything she gets her hands on to help her make a decent batch of ejuice, I just have to tell you that I have learned so much just from reading this thread. I started trying to build coils on a RDA first and tried non-stop for 3 straight days to build a coil on it but had terrible results....couldn't build a decent coil to save my life...and just got so frustrated that I put it aside and bought more coils for my tank. It looks like DIY ejuice might not be as easy as I thought, either. [IOW, I should not count on the juice I make and should probably stock up on more store bought juice while I'm learning.] Beginning vaping is expensive with all the stuff you need to buy. I am sick of buying juices online that are so-called excellent brands that really suck. But master chefs are not born overnight either. I guess practice makes perfect. Please keep us informed [you, too, jigawatts] on how it goes for you.

Whenever I get time I'll give you one of the recepies or 2 that I just made and they are kind of vapeable. Not perfect but at least its something decent. Btw I am a truck driver thats why I dont have time to send it to you right away.
As I mentioned earlier FA and INW are flavors that are made for ejuice while TFA, CAP and other brands are made for food but we use them for juices too.
Talking about coil, I use Kuro Coiler so building a coil is not that hard you just need patience. Once you build it and use it on RBA or RDA trust me, burnt taste wont be because your coil is bad, it gonna be because of cotton. Japanese cotton takes 20-ish puffs to take dry hits disappear and organic cotton balls even more than that. I wasted 3.5ml tank to get hit without burnt taste with organic cotton balls.

THANKS, McVape. I am glad to hear your recommendations for FA and INW as I was lost there, too. Would love to see your recipes but no rush. I just got my Nude Nicotine "DIY Starter Kit" and made my first batches with their 3 supplied flavors. It was a fairly simple process but I only used one flavor [plus sweetener] for each of the 3 batches I made. They taste fairly good but I am going to let them steep a bit. I also have a Coil Master coiler and I sat down last night and was able to make my first successful dual coil build for my Tobeco Velocity. I'm really happy with the flavor. It's different than my tanks. I am surprised that some of my store bought eliquids that I previously didn't care for actually taste okay using it. So, things are going better for me now. It's all a learning process. :)
