    Somewhere between here and there
Thank you for taking the time to read yet another review from me. If nothing else, it might just take your mind off of the current virus epidemic for a short time. I was recently sent the Digiflavor Edge 200W TC kit for review by Geekvape in order to do an honest review. This one might be a little more honest than you might expect. First Impressions:

I have to admit that my first impression was not good. I experienced difficulty getting the push button on the bottom of the unit to allow the battery cover to release. This one isn’t like any other mod I’ve tried. The battery cover is held on by a spring loaded mechanism and you have to push the button on the bottom of the mod to release it. However, when I unboxed this unit, the battery compartment would not release. I had to end up using a screwdriver to pry up while pushing the button in order to get the cover to release so I could install the batteries. I informed Geekvape about this and they offered to immediately replace the unit but I told them it wasn’t necessary since the release was now working normally. For some reason it just wouldn’t let go that first time. After that it has been smooth sailing and have not had a problem again.

The AS chipset, if you’re not very familiar with it, is very user friendly. Like many other mods, five clicks of the fire button will turn the unit on and off. Three clicks of the fire button will take you into the menu system. From there you use the up and down buttons to navigate and the fire button to select. The Edge mod has all of the normal features such as Power, Bypass, Memory, Temperature control, and Variable Power Curve(VPC). One feature I wasn’t aware of until I received it is that it is wireless charging compatible. I don’t own a charging pad so was unable to test that feature.

I found the mod itself to be comfortable in the hand and very much like the color display screen. However, I found the placement of the fire button to be a little awkward. I feel like the button should have been installed lower. The high placement of the button made me hold my thumb up higher and press in a downward motion. I’m sure after using it for a while that it would become routine but I found it slightly difficult.

The kit includes the Spectre sub ohm tank. The tank allows for 5.5ml of liquid with the bubble glass that is pre-installed. The top cap is the same 1/8 turn and remove cap we are all used to seeing on most of the Geekvape tanks. The coils included in the tank are the Digimesh X1 coils that have a resistance of .2 ohms. One thing I fail to understand is why many manufacturers sell temperature control kits but only include kanthal coils. Anyway, both of the coils included are kanthal mesh and are rated for 30-90 watts. I felt like the flavor and vapor production from this tank were alright but nothing to write home about. I would give the flavor rating on this tank probably a 7 out of 10. Keep in mind that it is just my opinion. I used some DIY lemon meringue pie that I am very familiar with and have used in many other tanks so I know what to look for in the flavor profile. I settled in at 33 watts and the airflow a little over half open. I should mention that the drip tip in my picture is not the stock drip tip. I don’t like short tips and the first thing I do is replace the tip when they come like that.

    Pros, Cons, and Final Thoughts:

    Pros:

    • Attractive color screen

    • Wireless Charging

    • Easy to use menu

    • Compatible with Geekvape Super Mesh coils

    Cons:

    • Button placement on mod

    • Initial difficulty opening battery compartment

    • Just my opinion but spring mechanism for battery compartment

There were a few things that I did really like about the Edge kit but there were things that I didn’t and found the flavor production from the tank mediocre. I will however be trying a different coil in this tank at a later time to give it another chance. I have to admit that I have been spoiled by using Geekvape branded products and found this unit to be a little lackluster in comparison to their branded products. I feel like the button placement was wrong on this mod but that’s not a deal breaker. Others may have a much better experience than I did so don’t take my word as gospel or anything. Is it a decent kit? Yes. Would I recommend buying it? Maybe, if the price was right. Who knows, other people may find it as the best thing since sliced bread. Thanks again for reading my review and if you would like to take a closer look at it then you can find it at the Geekvape store at www.geekvape.com .

I like honesty in a review myself, I enjoyed it. I agree what stood out most were the "TC functions" in the kit with no way to use or try them. That makes NO sense to me.

Course, I have never bought a kit unless it was a ridiculous sale and then I don't use the DL tank. I like gigantor two battery mods with little tiny MTL tanks on top. I have never GOTTEN a kit where I used both of them.

Oh wait, the zelos and Nautlus 2 as I was starting vaping. That was a completely reasonable pairing.
