Okay, so the coil that came in my toptank nano is pretty large, cylindrical, and has two large holes with a smaller hole in-between. The SSOCC coils I ordered are a littler smaller and have two mediumish holes, and the coils are a little narrower. I am having problems with the replacement coils flooding my air holes. Also when I close off the airflow and take a draw some air is still pulling through. Is anyone familiar with these SSOCC coils? Are they not authentic?
I got them here:
Kanger NEBOX SSOCC and Clapton Coil
But they don't quite look like the photo. Also the o-ring that is blue in the picture is red and looks like a crappy quality, which I suspect is causing my problem.
Edit: Also, the link refers to Ni 200 (is that this coil?) and how it is only for use in temperature-control mods, and mentions explosion risk. I am using it in a toptank on a subvod, not a temperature-control mod I don't think? But it also refers to them as OCC coils, but the listing and the box say ssocc?

The coils are identical to this:
Authentic Kanger 0.5 Ohm SSOCC Coil Head for Nebox
which says it is for use in subvod.

Maybe this clear things up.
All the new coils are named SSOCC, only the color of the rings wil tell you whats the type of wire dealing with.

Thanks. So I have NiCr. Did they redesign the coils, making them smaller and removing a wicking hole?
I just realized because I ordered a second subvod kit (subvod with toptank nano) and it just came today and I realized the coil looks different. The coil is bigger, is the same diameter top to bottom (instead of narrower at the top), and has three wicking holes..... 2 large with a smaller inbetween. It also provides a slightly different vape. Warmer and more flavor.

Got them with my new toptank, first thing i noticed where the bigger holes of the coils, they produce better flavor and vapor than the square ones used on my subtank. Still not figured out what the meaning or advantage is with the 3th little hole tho.
Do you know where to get these? I prefer them over the SSOCC coils I have that I am finding everywhere. I don't see this three-hole design on Kanger's website.

It is a complete redesign, but mainly to add volume to the tank. Performance is supposed to be close to the ones being replaced.

No Kanger Coil has anything to do with more/less air by opening/closing the adjustment ring. The ring controls air flow from outside into lower chamber.
Size of Coil head air openings will dictate maximum air flow capability.

I thought I read somewhere though bad o-rings can cause liquid to flood your air holes? What should I do if my air holes are flooding and when I close off the air flow I can still pull air? It means a bad seal somewhere, right?

If liquid is Flooding the air channel, you want to Open to reduce vacuum(suction) th slow liquid transfer.
If an o-ring is not seating properly, you want to correct that issue. Either by replacing the coil, or removing the coil and Flipping the bottom o-ring to try again for a good seat.(seal)

found these SSOCC coils on the kangertech usa website:
KangerTech US | Kanger Upgraded SSOCC Coils for Toptank/ Subtank/ NEBOX (5 Pack)
Look different than the replacements I have, look like they may the ones that came in my new toptank?

The air flow holes are fully opened, they always are. And I read that if, when I close the holes and suck and am still getting air, that that means there is a bad seal somewhere that is causing the leaking.

Are you sure the o-ring on the coil can't cause a leak that would cause air to be pulled through with sealed airflow? I tried to remove the o-ring with my fingernail but didn't succeed so I wound up just dabbling with it, when I put the coil back and seal the airflow now it is thoroughly sealed when I try to draw, no airflow.

Yeah, I wouldn't think it was a juice problem. I know they had problems with the original square coils leaking. I think they then went to the round with two holes, then the round with 3 holes? I have a toptank mini and have had zero problems with leaking. Using 70/30 and 60/40 VG/PG juice with the coils that have two large holes and one smaller one (3 holes). I would check and make sure there is an oring on the coil, and make sure it is tight. I have only ordered an extra set of five, and they were of the 3-hole variety.

Where did you find the 3-hole variety? That's what came in my new subvod kit and it is great. when I checked the o-rings in the spare (2-hole) ssocc coils I have the o-ring is kind of irregular shaped and won't lie flush. Pretty sure it is an o-ring issue. Looking to the get the 3-hole coils.

I have the SSOCC's at .5ohms that are fat and round with two large wick holes and one smaller one. I slightly prefer them to the VOCC coils, just slightly, better wicking I feel with the extra hole. I hope they keep selling them instead of the seemingly official version of the SSOCC with two holes and slimmer coil. Time will tell I guess.

Yes! But where do you get them? The ones sold on the kangertechus.com website, they look similar to the 3-hole one my tank came with but not identical, and can't tell whether it has the 3 holes.

These are the ones on kangertechus.com:
SSOCC-New-0.5-ohm.jpg

however the ones I like, that came in my subvod kit, have a "seam" around the top of the coil, although it doesn't narrow like my crappy ones do.
I think this is a pic of the one I have that I like, that doesn't have the leaking problem:
original-upgrade-kanger-ssocc-coils-for-kanger.jpg

This one IS different from the crappy replacements I have now with the leaky o-rings.

I found a picture of the first box and the coils in it, I think they are the same as the coil I like since they do have the little seam, and the three holes (two bigger, one smaller). Picture on this page (But then the second pic is of the inferior coils that have a narrower top)
Electronic Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette - Vapor Cigarette Kanger SSOCC Coils (Pack of 5) at www.evape.us
This is the same packaging that is on kangertechus.com, so I guess when I order coils I will look for this package.
Here is the packaging for the ones I am having trouble with:

Does anyone know where to buy the new larger ones that come with the Top Tank Mini? It definitely did come with the larger of the 2 above with the third added smaller hole.
Those are the ones I am looking for, too. I ordered from a listing that looks like it had the correct box from kangertechus.com, and that evape.us site has the correct box but a picture of the actual coil looks like the smaller ones. Waiting on my order from kangertechus.com so we will see.
