Shamelessly stolen from The vaping Legion FB group

"FDA is taking into consideration banning flavored e-liquid. Researchers have put together a study that the FDA will recognize on how flavored e-liquid have an affect on ex- cigarette smokers. We have been striving for several weeks with hundreds of other vapers to get individuals to take the survey. Thus far we just have about 22K responses. The FDA can not acknowledge the results with lower than 30k replies. If you vape and you give consideration to flavors an important part of your current vape lifestyle and also live in the Us, i highly recommend that you take 15 short minutes of your time and effort and fill out the study through the following url.
https://secure.dacimasoftware.net/CSURES/A/FLAVORS.1/2/
And TIA if you do take the survey, I REALLY DONT WANT TO VAPE ONLY TOBACCO AND MENTHOL FLAVORS.
Thanks"

Just the idiotic labels

I'm unsure what labels people are referring to when they say that as I've probably seen very few labels for ejuice in my life as I'm fairly limited in what I buy and do DIY..

But I'm reminded that I love minions too.. and very much enjoy things that people consider for kids and of course the Michelin man wasnt selling tires to kids - while MY kids... heck stick a skull and crossbones on something and call it dangerous and they'd be right on it.

Kids don't want kids stuff.. they want what's "bad"

IP infringement and the cartoon labels that ANTZ show everyone in legislature.
It's like supplying your enemy with unlimited free ammo in a war.

I disagree with IP infringement but not because that appeals to kids, bit rather because it's morally, if not legally wrong.

However, I've always felt like politicians have always missed the mark on what kid appealing is and means..

THIS is what appeals to teenagers:

5mp_10ml_pe_1.png

And I'm dead serious about that.. cartoons, thats for anyone.. the above? That's what attracts rebellious teens..

Politicians don't know kids at all. Cartoons don't attract kids.

It doesn't matter if kids like it. It's all about public perception when an ANTZ holds up some My Pretty Pony e-juice or something like that in a town meeting or wherever.

So what do you propose? That we bend over and accept this BS, just like we once did with the outrageously exaggerated claims regarding the dangers of second-hand smoke?

You can bend over if you like but unless you love the 2 flavor choice (tobacco or menthol) public perception matters more than pretty labels.

Here's the thing. When they hold up stuff that they claim is marketing to underage vapers they are outright lying.

Now.. I understand that perhaps the average American does not have the same IQ that I do, and so we accept that some people cannot actually work out in their mind whats really happening. But I cannot abide lying to people, and/or pretending that what politicians are saying is true because its not. Allowing the politicians to lie to people of lesser intelligence is not acceptable. All that does is feed into the propaganda because then they can say "See even the vaping community agrees they are targeting minors" and that is a point blank lie and I wont feed it. Speak the truth or don't speak at all.

My son is 34 years old and smoked over two packs a day. He is now vaping and many of his favorite juices are these flavors they are sitting there saying is marketing to kids. Now, while my son is MY child, he is no child. He is a full grown adult and if he wants watermelon flavor pop rocks juice then by God he ought to be able to have it. Its keeping him from killing himself with cigarettes, and saving him a fortune to boot.

My daughter would be 27 if she had lived. (She died of cancer in 2013) I can see her loving a my little pony ejuice had she been a smoker (she wasn't though) who took up vaping, and shes an adult..

Are manufacturers marketing to adults between the ages of 18 - 40 years old? Well yes.. they actually are. However, that age group is plenty old enough to make up their own minds whether or not they want to vape.

The government has told manufacturers and vendors they are not allowed to market vaping gear or juice to be a smoking cessation product. They have to tell people its a tobacco product same as cigarettes and market it as such.

Well great.. they aren't marketing it as a smoking cessation product. They aren't trying to market it to only smokers because they were told in no uncertain terms they aren't allowed to do that. Therefore, they are targeting potential customers between the ages of 18 and 80, and the younger generations take to new technology faster and easier than the older generation so they get more of the advertisements.

So oh well.. what the heck do politicians expect. Now that manufacturers and vendors have done exactly what the government wanted these politicians still aren't happy.. no real shock there, but what I refuse to do is to capitulate to the government and agree to lies in order to demean the vaping community and our manufacturers and vendors.

If we do, there is no where it will stop. Next they will tell us we cant have churro flavor because manufacturers are trying to target minorities. I'm not getting on this non stop train riding to the destruction of vaping as we know it.

Heck no I'm digging my heels in and standing upon the truth no matter what, and teaching that truth and propagation of fact..

Doesn't matter. Smear campaigns work.
I'm out. Support what you want.
Don't pretend it doesn't matter because you don't like it.
It matters.

It shouldn't matter what labels look like but it does.
They will and do use every bit of ammo we feed them.

and so on.

All that stuff is the ejuice my 34 year old son vapes and loves to vape..

is a 34 year old man not old enough to decide for himself what he can vape?

I am NOT propagating lies! I wont do it!

They want to take away flavors adults vape, because they are spreading lies. I wont help them do it ever.

Gosh, you seem a little opiniona... Er... Never mind...

Thing is, it's quite possible to have sweet, fruity flavors without bright cartoon characters on the labels.

Or, maybe I'm missing the point... I'll admit that I haven't been following this thread as close as once I did.

Mowgli thinks we shouldn't allow sour apple candy flavored ejuice to be manufactured and sold because its causing the politicians to claim its marketing to children, even though thats a lie.

I vehemently disagree with pretending its anything but a lie.

Is it the Flavoring or is it the Packaging that some Vapers Object to?

I grew up eating a big bowl of Fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA while watching Looney Tunes on Saturday mornings. I enjoy the little time warps such flavors supply. I just don't think manufacturers should use cartoon pics and fonts and colors to market said flavors.

The idea that vapers, with their newly rediscovered taste buds and olfactory senses, should be relegated to a diet of ash is repulsive.

That said, I am extraordinarily disgusted with the advocacy movement amongst vapers. There are millions (estimated) of vapers in the US, and we can't get enough respondents on a simple survey to prevent the impending doom. Can't get enough signatures on a (useless) petition to get it heard. Most sitting in front of their computers and ignoring everything that's not a fancy handcheck, cloud chucking, or giveaway.
