I just picked up a bottle of Pure Glycerin from CVS (CVS Pure Glycerin USP - CVS pharmacy), opened it, and it smells like baby powder. I've never mixed any juice before but I'm pretty sure something isn't right there. Maybe it's from the plastic container, I don't know. I tasted it and it kinda leaves an aftertaste of powder. The expiration is some time in 2017.

Active Ingredient: Glycerin 99.5% Anhydrous

.5 % something else.

IDK why people insist on using that stuff from stores that's not intended for vaping. Heck, 1 $8.00 bottle of VG has lasted me 6 months. (although I admit I don't vape 100% VG).

Opinionated comment: Just get the proper stuff when you order nic base and flavoring. Shop around. You can buy it by the jug. Here's one:

Exact same Product supplied by many Vape suppliers only in different packaging.

USP GRADE! I have Bottles from Wizard and a smaller one from Walmart - Both Smell, Vape, taste identical.
Your .5 other is for FDA approval but can be as simple as moisture absorbed. If stated as 100% any discrepancy would shut down production.

Apparently not the same in all cases, or it wouldn't smell like baby powder.

I wasn't being argumentative. However, you can get it by the gallon too...from vaping stores...
If you want it to smell like babypowder (like the OP said it did, not me)...go ahead.

When they manufacture it for hand cream, there's no guarantee even if it says USP. Just FYI on USP alone on the label....it means the manufacturer claims to adhere to USP standards...that it's made according to quality standards, but it doesn't indicate purity as in 100% VG. For example, I'm sure it's high quality hand cream/lotion. The USP doesn't test/confirm it though unless it says USP Verified.

If it smelled like bably powder...I wouldn't vape it. But you wish to argue, fine. You can vape it.

Just for fun, here's another link copied from another thread on this:

PG and VG by the gallon, for example.

EDIT: And from above too. lol. good 1 Jfaria1891.
If you like what you use, fine. But I just don't think that USP means that it's intended for consumption (food grade) unless it's a food product.

Not arguing, simply clarifying.
Humco Glycerine, which I have purchased was 100% Clear and had NO noticeable smell of any kind.
I have noticed they DO sell fragrant glycerine(lavender)
As stated, a simple use comparison to WL which is rated as 99.7% pure left no noticeable discrepancy.

Obviously if the OP has a product that is not right, he should be returning it. Perhaps a bad batch, wrong product purchase or even tampering.

But to each his own.:)
