I went on a Celebrity cruise this past November. No problem with getting gear through security. I vaped on my balcony frequently and wasn't hassled by any staff. I didn't try to vape in any public areas. I could have gone to the smoking area on deck, but I don't like being around the smell of real cigarette smoke anymore, so I kept it to my stateroom and when I was off the ship.

I've been vaping in hotel rooms around the world and in rental cars for the past year and have not had any problems. I've even left my Kayfun on the hotel room desk in plain sight. The key is to not blow huge clouds that could set off the smoke detectors - stay under 20 watts, and go with lighter smelling flavors that linger less. I find fruity flavors linger less than tobacco or dessert flavors. But I figure nothing I vape smells any worse than the bottle of wine from the mini bar that I left out all night :)

I think hotel, car rental, cruise companies hate smoking for two reasons. 1) tobacco smoke bothers current guests who are around it. 2) it bothers future guests who will have to smell it because it lingers so long and it impossible to clean out of upholstery. So as long as you don't go around blowing clouds in people's personal space and don't spill your juice all over the carpet, you should be fine vaping anywhere.

I had a similar experience as CajunCloud on my recent Royal Carribean Christmas cruise, vaped on every open deck, bar, and casino with my Billet Box. Used the mech mod and Lemo at the designated smoking areas only, due to bigger clouds. Had a great time comparing gear and juice with several other vapers on the boat. Vaped in the room with no problems, our maid even complimented the wife on her choice of room freshener scent, she just giggled and said "Hubby picked it out". lol.

Had some great talks with some smokers who were on the edge of trying vaping. Might have some new converts joining ECF.

I also brought too much stuff as this was my 1st cruise. Basically had a complete rebuilding kit, next time I'll bring a couple of spare premade coils, wick, charger, and some juice choices.
Cruise and vape on!

Cruise and vape on!

My "complete" rebuild kit:
3' 28ga kanthal (what I use for my standard build)
drill bits (a pack used for dremmels - 7bits 1/32 to 1/8)
2 micro screwdrivers (one blue handled phillips, one dual ended - phillips/standard screwdrivers that came with RDAs)
precut JC wicks (in a ziplock bag)
nail clippers
tweezers

All tucked nicely in an Altoid can... the only thing that doesn't fit is an ohm checker...
I don't generally use those pieces when rebuilding at home because I have better tools, but in a pinch it works.

Thanks for this thread. My wife just booked us on a Carnival cruise for May. I typically chain vape 6mg liquid, but since Carnival only allows vaping in "smoking areas" I have kind of a two pronged approach.

I will use my KF in the room with my typical 6mg, max VG juice. Then I plan to order some 12mg 50/50 to run in my Nautilus when out on the boat. Then I can vape in the "smoking areas" and get satiated with nicotine for a longer period than I would typically expect.

That's the hope anyway. I will be using an MVP and an Xpro M50 which are both charged via USB.

Any critiques of my setup?

I just got back from the cruise and smoking is not just allowed on deck.
It was allowed in most bars - the casino - and a few other places.
I had my ipv3 with atlantis and used max airflow.
I took smaller hits and blew it down at my feet at the bar and at the casino if I was alone and knew I wouldnt bother anyone I did the same as the bar.
If there were people playing craps and roulette with me (unless they dont mind or smoke as well) I did mouth to lung hit on smaller airflow.
Never once had an incidient.
Just a lot of people ask me what I was using because they have never seen a box mod before. And asked if I had - could use - or have stuff to use ......... in the thing.
I just brushed them off but still.
Easy experience.
I was kind of worried that when the security had me go through xray bag check, they didn't pull my bag aside like the airport.
I HAD MY JUICE ROLLED UP IN A SOCK AND A MECH MOD-BATTERIES-ETC!!!!
That had to of looked bad on the scanners!

.............

I vaped very rarely in my cabin. You can do it. I also vooped when I needed to.
