Hi All -

So I have a couple items to cover here, but I thought I'd combine it into one post since my series of events are all somewhat related.

I've had the original Crown tank for a while, absolutely love the flavor & performance, coils last me a while. Definitely my favorite tank...EXCEPT that recently when i try to remove the top cap to refill, or the bottom to change the coil, it ends up unscrewing the middle shaft, disassembling the whole tank so all of my juice pours out and gets everywhere, not to mention a full tank of juice is then totally wasted. Drives me insane. Sometimes i fight so hard to get the top cap or bottom piece unscrewed from the center shaft, that I have marks on my hands. Sux. Other than that, I've had no other issues with that tank, no leaking, nothing.

As a result, I went for the Crown 2 since they made a change to the design fixing that issue by adding a locking mechanism to the center shaft. And that definitely seems to have resolved that issue in the Crown 2. I did hear people were having issues with the original Crown 2 coils, so i waited until very recently to buy it when I saw that a 3rd version of coils has been released and were supposedly performing well (apparently those with the 2 yellow o-rings, versus the original that has one yellow & 1 black o ring, or the 2nd version with one yellow & one grey). The original coil came with the tank, and like many others have said, it was amazing for the first day, I was so thrilled....and then not even 24 hours later the flavor went to hell, dry hits, etc. I tried sticking a pin in the cotton through the juice holes, whole 9. That would give me maybe another 30 min of great performance, and then back to horrible flavor and dry hits. I bought a pack of the new coils (they had the 2 yellow o rings, and MyVaporStore confirmed they had the newest version before I ordered). I went through 3 of them in just a few days. All of them were doing the exact same thing as the original version coils w the black o ring. Has anyone else had issues with the new coils as well? Did i get a bad batch, or are they just poor performers just like the originals? Any work arounds to get the performance to stay consistent without having to tinker with them every 30 minutes?

So - based on all of this, I've been in a few local vape shops, and on more than one occasion they have suggested the Tobeco Super Tank/Super Tank Mini to me. Does anyone have any opinions to share on this tank? Which of the various coil options are best for it? Anyone use both that, and the original Crown at some point? I'd love to hear a comparison on flavor and coil performance between the 2. My ideal tank would be the original Crown, just with the locking mechanism that the Crown 2 has so the entire tank doesnt come apart when I simply try to refill it. I really wish Uwell would just re-release the Crown 1 with that feature, I'd be in heaven. :)

Any input on any of the above is greatly appreciated. If anyone has any other suggestions on a tank that performs similarly to the original Crown in terms of flavor and coil life, but without an annoying issue like dumping an entire tank of juice on my lap when all I want to do is refill the thing, I'd love to hear about it! Or, if anyone even has a solution to the disassembling issue on the original Crown, I'd definitely be open to that as well. :)

Thanks so much!

Have you tried bottom filling it? I don't use that option but might be worth a try

On the Crown or Crown 2? On the original Crown I have, and run into the same problem. Even the bottom piece unscrews the whole center shaft, sometimes making it near impossible for me to change the coils, because both the center shaft and bottom piece come off together. It's a battle to get them apart. I haven't tried it with the Crown 2 though, since I've had no issues with the top fill there.

Never had a Crown, but I do have a Super tank. I think it's a great performer even though it usually flies under the radar. It's also a bargain for $20 or frequently less. It takes any Atlantis/Triton style coil so there are a ton of options for them, as well as Tobeco's own coils. Right now I'm using their Tobeco 0.3 ohm SS notch coil in TC mode and it works great.

I pretty just use RTAs now, but the Super tank is one of the very few I have in rotation that that uses factory coils. Oh, and it doesn't leak.

Great - thanks so much for the info. Especially considering the price, it sounds like its probably one worth trying out. I've never used anything with the Atlantis or Triton coils, but I'm sure I could find plenty of info on them...or just go with the Tobeco coils since you're having good luck with them. Thanks again!

I have 2 original Crowns and 3 Super Tank Minis and like them both.

The STMs are inexpensive and even though the Tobeco factory coils are almost impossible to find, full size Triton coils have worked for me perfectly. I have a couple of the Triton RBAs and have yet to try them in a STM. They are nowhere near as easy to build as the Crown RBA.

Flavour wise, both are great IMO. Airflow advantage goes to the Crown and both are easy to topfill. The Crown will leak if you don't get the wicking perfect where the STMs have never leaked for me. The STM is much shorter as well. The STM cannot use standard drip tips and the Crown can.

I guess I would recommend the Crown if you prefer to rebuild and the Super Tank Mini if you will be using factory coils.
