Cracked glass tank - help!

Hello,

Just hoping for a bit of advice. The glass tank on my mini protank 2 has cracked at the top, but (stupidly) I don't have any spares. It isn't leaking, so I was wondering if it's safe to smoke through it whilst I'm waiting for a replacement? Am slightly worried about inhaling small glass particles. Anyone help appreciated!

Just some common sense- I wouldn't recommend it. Glass cracks, and if it completely breaks while using, you're going to have a sharp and possibly bloody mess on your hands. (no pun intended)

I'd pick up two new protanks - a spare to keep around and a new one to use. You could always also keep some EVODs around for an emergency - pretty good for emergency situations, far better than the CE4 I think.

I'll go against the grain (common sense?) and say if its not cracked enough to cause leakage of the juice and is still holding an air seal, its safe to use for a couple of days. It's doubtful there are any tiny glass shards that could make their way through the wick/coil head and into your vapor.

Be aware that any physical jolt to your Protank and the glass could completely shatter, leaking the juice and possibly leading to the bloody mess that Ketsuban alluded to.

Put a piece of tape around it, both to help keep the crack from spreading, and to hold it together if it does!

I'll have to agree with Baditude, It's not %100 safe, but I'd give it in the high %90's... leakage is very very possible. If you're worried about glass particles, I'd stick some cotton down the air intake as a make-shift glass filter.

Not wholly recommended, but you have to do what you have to do. get that replacement ASAP.

Thanks everyone. The crack really is tiny, but I just get a bit OCD about these things - no point switching from cigs if you're smoking glass particles! Cheers for all the advice - new ones already ordered.

i wouldn't expect any glass particles from the tank to get inhaled as long as you wash it.


considering that silica wick seems to me to be very very similar to fibre glass, ........ that's the place I'd be more concerned about.

But if the glass is cracked best treat it gently till the spare arrives; considering there's loads of cheap plastic tanks around you might want to keep a couple plastic ones for backup.

I bought a 10pack of miniprotankknockoffs off ebay so I'm not worried.

Mini protank 2? Take it apart and wash out any pieces. If you put it together and its not leaking... then don't worry about it.
