For smokers - it could work.
But - returning to OP question - does it have to be addictive for new vapers (previously non-smokers)?
I strongly believe NO. I strongly believe pushing nicotine on new vapers is immoral.
Firstly who is pushing it on non smokers? and secondly if you feel this strongly about nicotine surely you should be up in arm about Starbucks as they sell a product that is as addictive and is more detrimental to health than vaping.Coffee: 10 Shocking Reasons Why It

That might be a bit far.

That's like someone wanting to try beer but you only suggest non-alcoholic because they might get addicted.

I know what you are driving at but that just seems a tad over done.

All my opinion of course.

I am addicted to buying new mechanical mods and RDAs, and spending night after night trying different new coil builds, so it didn't save me money financial wise for now, lol. But since I just started vaping for a little more than 2 months, I guess it's still a new experience to me, and hopefully my urge of buying new toys will die down someday. :) I have been making ejuices myself and I like my own creation so in the long run it should save me money from buying ejuices.

I have tuned down my nicotine from 12mg to 6mg so I am not so dependent on the only unhealthy ingredient in the ejuices. I am also using less and less custard-based flavorings to avoid diacetyl like materials in my lung.

So yeah I am addictive to vaping but I don't see any harm in it, certainly much much better than smoking.

Should teens be supplied with beer so they would not buy whisky?

That's a category error, and it completely misses the point.

The point is - teens experiment with adult products they are not supposed to use. It's almost an inevitability. If they are experimenting with something less addictive compared to what they would otherwise have used, then it's obviously the case that this will result in less overall addiction.

And, Professor Dautzenberg of France, formerly highly skeptical of e-cigarettes, expressed amazement after analysing results of a study following 14,000 Parisian schoolchildren over 4 years. Overall nicotine use had declined somewhat following the introduction of e-cigs, but tobacco use specifically declined 40%

His view? That e-cigs had "rebranded" cigarettes as something "dirty and nerdy" - another unintended consequence. But, surely, you'd agree not a bad one? Professor Dautzenberg called it "miraculous".

OK, let's look into merriam-webster dictionary Addiction - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary :

1: the quality or state of being addicted <addiction to reading>
2: compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as ......, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful

Accordint this definition nicotine is addictive (and it is so, even if nicotine is relatively harmless biologically).

Addiction to nicotine trough vaping means:

- You are unable to go for prolong times without vaping. I go 2 or 3 hours a few times a day at work without vaping. I once went 7 hours without vaping with no problem.
- You have to carry your vaping gear with you even on shopping trips. I don't have to carry my vaping gear with me when I go shopping. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
- You have to learn stealthy vaping to survive in anti-vaping society. I've never stealth vaped.
So I'm not addicted to nicotine.

Should teens be supplied with beer so they would not buy whisky?
Bad example. Saying, "Should teens be supplied with whisky so they would not buy beer?" makes as much sense.

FYI, one of the things you notice when you vape is that even if you vape a lot, when you have to be away from it, it doesn't make you crazy for it like cigs did.
Exactly. I've seen a lot of posts lately stating the same thing. I know it's certainly true for myself.
