I've been exploring the world of RBAs for a few weeks now and I think my coils are browning too quickly they look rusted. Am I doing something wrong? This is a picture of a 4 day old coil after I dry burned it and this is what they always look like after I dry burn I see people saying things like "just dry burn it until it looks like new" I haven't ever been able to do that

Mine turns light a light brown almost tan-white color. Almost like a spark plug on a car run pretty lean.

It never gets rusty like that. But it is somewhere in between and maintains that pretty much indefinitely after the first time it bakes up with junk from the juice and I rewick it. I DO douse my coils under water tho when I clean them. Usually flaming hot - and screeeeeech right under running water.

They have never turned 'rusty' however. And I have run them nearly 2 months without changing the coil.

It's either bunk wire, or some strange reaction to the juice, or the way it's set up.

You could try another method for cleaning coils. This is something I saw rip tripper do and it works pretty well for me.

Turn on a faucet and dry burn your coil so it's glowing red, then let go of the firing button and carefully put your coil under the water while it's still red. You don't want to get your mod wet...

It does a much better job of getting rid of any residue and is easier than trying to brush or scrape off any build up. It should look pretty much brand new afterwords.
