Any idea how to make a cloud+flavour build for subtank mini ?
only got 26 kanthal wire..
I want to ask if how many times i must wrap the coils?
how many ohm?
Must i wrap it tight / spaced?
Whats the min watts and max watts i can go ?
How long this build can last?
Sorry if i asked alot, kinda new to vape .
Appreciate if anyone answer all.
I would first of all, read up on ohms law and Battery safety in our forum battery guru @Baditude blogs here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blog-entry/18-baditudes-blogs.6740/ As far as a personal preference for the subtank mini for flavor and clouds, I do a twisted 26 guage, 7 wraps around a 3 mm thick screwdriver, comes out to about .5 ohms at 18-22 watts as I like a cooler vape. Courtesy of Steam Engine found here: http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp You can look at Rip Tripper twisted coil build to see a video on how it is made here: I find that tight wrap works better as spaced works good for nickel builds. Do not use kanthal in temperature mode as I was told the reason being is that It will ruin the chip. To each is there own. It is only an opinion on my behalf. The max watts would be based on how well the wicking is done. The more juice being able to get to the coil, the higher the watts you can run. If you put in too much cotton, it will choke out the coil and you could end up burning the cotton. Here is a video for wicking found here: So far, mine lasted 6 months and I finally had to re coil it. As far as clouds are concerned, higher vg will give you more clouds. With you being a mouth to lung hitter, it would be harder to create them as you need more airflow. I usually use 30pg/70 vg for my tank and get decent clouds with the tightest setting airflow for mtl hits. Hope this helps you out. Happy Vaping!!!!:vapor:

Honestly, If you simply want to experience CLOUDS and have no experience there is a slightly costly, but pretty safe way.
1) Smok X Cube II
1) TFV4 Tank
*Extra Tri-coils for continued use
2) LG 18650 HG Batteries

Experience up to 140 watts and Billowing Clouds with built in safety features.

** This is just one of many ways to accomplish your goal.
You would also be able to experience Temperature Control when ready.

I would look into tc with caution. Watched some videos about it on you tube and according to some it is very toxic. I haven't made my mind up as to whether it's safe or not and will not be using it until it is proved safe.
Vape on with kanthal.

Toxicity is not a concern when properly using any of the recommended wire. Even Kanthal has a high temp danger point.
Vaping on Crusty coils could possibly maybe be hazardous.

Not saying people should not be cautious in any Vape equipment use, just that your Blanket statement is misleading.

Vape safe and enjoy!

Thanks alot guys :)
But last question..
Any idea why after i vape for more than 1 day, the taste doesnt seem "Fresh" like it used to?

Do next day left overs taste as fresh as they initially did?
Any flavoring color can be separated and change the overall flavor.
Heat effects flavoring - repeated use.
Some people actually rewick or replace coil heads daily. Me, not so picky.
If it still taste clean, I continue to vape. Once it gets an off taste, I rebuild.
Some tanks can go 30-50ml before rewicking.

Very nice post Bad but you left out the best wick of them all, a little uber advanced for a noob(^driving the space shuttle) but com on lol
http\\:SS Mesh for life lol
Nothing compares and thats not subjectional..
Sorry, your comments about stainless steel mesh as being the best wick of all is subjectional.

I've tried SS mesh, in fact my first exposure with rebuilding was with SS mesh in a Genesis-style RTA. I hated it so much that I stopped rebuilding entirely for about 6 - 8 months until I got my Kayfun-style RTA. IMHO, recommending a Genesis-style tank to a noob is the worst thing one could do.

After having several months experience with rebuilding with Kayfun and RDA's, I went back to the Genny tank to give it a second try. Although the experience was improved over my first experience, in no way would I continue to use a Genny tank in this day and age. The basic design of Genny's and SS mesh is past its prime when there was nothing better on the market.

You had no idea how to use it, it literally gives best vapor and flavor; the dynamics off it.. It is actually a cooking surface versus cotton/silica is not even arguable..

Thats fine, the difficulty of use is huge reason why it wan't successful as wicking..

I use it 100% on all types of atomizers being unfortunate to have a cotton allergy but I did try cotton..

Hey it seems like you already received a bunch of well organized information. Good luck!

I would like to add on if you don't mind. I have a little blog I prepared a while back that reads about Ohm's law and how to choose a coil for your device using Steam Engine calculator as a guide (pics included). Give it a chance if you have time, it's super simple to understand and gives a good deal info.

Ohms law and how it applies to personal vaporizers

I guess you don't remember the naysayers when Kanthal hit the scene, (not aluminum?). :D

And there you go. Genesis-style tanks are more complex to set up perfectly than say a Kayfun-style tank.

There's the issue of rolling a SS mesh wick of proper diameter. This was quite troublesome for me personally, and I finally resorted to buying pre-rolled SS wicks.

Most Genny tanks leak if not held upright, so that's a big turn-off for when out and about.
