I have been rebuilding my protank 2 coils, so I know how to do that. I just rinse everything and then rebuild.

I got 20 used coils from someone. I am going to rebuild them. They obviously used a strong tobacco flavored juice. Smells terrible!

Anyway, I am planning on cleaning them by soaking them in vodka before I rebuild them. I have never done this before. My question is this: Can I soak the silicone grommet and rubber insulator in vodka? I don't want to melt them or ruin them. I just want to make sure the smell is gone.

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

silicone is a very difficult material to damage. Theres a reason they use it in a variety of medical (And other unmentionable) applications. It can be boiled, and short of using a silicone based liquid, and a few certain oil based liquids, you're good to go.

Alcohol wont hurt silicone.

It shouldnt hurt rubber either. However, as mentioend already, test the material first before committing.
