Today I was lamenting the fact that my eGo just wasn't like it used to be. I happened to look at the terminals on one of the batteries, and it was brown. I grabbed a Q-tip and cleaned it off. I was amazed at the amount of gunk that came off.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but that seemed to make a huge difference. Everybody probably knows they should clean their battery terminals, but I like to think I invented this!

We go through Q-Tip's and toothpicks with batteries and cartomizers like crazy. We also quickly go through alcohol pads, the little 1-2 inch by 1-2 inch pads that would be used for swabbing prior to getting shots or taking blood.

We bought a box of a 100 or so for close to nothing online. They are great for cleaning things and the general "film" easily left on hands, tables, keyboards, batteries or otherwise.

We also bought a giant box of Wet-Naps as well.

For getting around the little edge around a battery post where things can collect we will periodically take one of the little alcohol swabs and wrap it around the end of a toothpick, blunt syringe end, or if you have a set of the extremely small screwdrivers for glasses or tiny electronics and gently go around a circle. We're ideally looking to seek out some form of extremely thin Q-Tip/Swabs -- we know they have to exist somewhere.

We've also seen mentions on the forums about using "Goo Gone" or Noalax I think is the other item -- mostly for getting rid of labels on bottles, but I believe also for cleaning threads and posts. We've never tried or looked into it, but it's something on the list to try.

Congratulations on figuring out a big part of ecig ownership here!

Cleaning my chargers and batteries is the way I've had the same charger and kept my egos running for a LONG time. Alcohol is good, make sure you unplug the charger first and do not activate the eGo during cleaning. Also let the alcohol evaporate completely before connecting a charger to your battery. I don't imagine there would be much danger, small puff and quick burn. Safe is always the better way to go.

Clean your attys or cartos as well, use the q-tip on the threads of the connections as well to help keep those connections clean. Think about a car battery, the more gunk the less juice flows. This can lead to poor charging and early eGo demise.

Well deduced!
