I've been vaping a while now with mostly beneficial results. The one problem I've noticed is that when I vape anything containing cinnamon I will wake up during the night with a major case of acid reflux. The stomach acids actually find their way into my sinus cavities causing severe pain and recently has resulted in projectile vomiting. This only happens if I use a liquid containing cinnamon.

The simple answer would be to stop using liquids with cinnnamon. The problem is I really like these liquids so I've tried experimenting with ways to safely use it....only using it in the mornings so it has time to get out of my system before bedtime....cutting it with other liquids to reduce the strength of the cinnamon flavor. These attempts to safely use this flavor have not shown to be effective.

Here's what really confuses me. I've done some research on acid reflux and I'm seeing many reports that eating cinnamon is recommended as a way to treat acid reflux. I know vaping cinnamon and eating cinnamon are two completely different things, but it still strikes me as funny that the results are so diametrically opposed.

I guess I will have to resign myself to not using my cinnamon vape and get my cinnamon fix by eating it instead. It kind of makes me sad. :(

I was wondering if I am alone in this situation or if other people have had the same thing happen.

Tiger,

As a sufferer of Acid Reflux since I was 15 years of age I would really recommend you see your family doctor. He is probably going to wanna do a Scope down your throat. You may have some type of allergy or something else going on being masked by the acid reflux. I have massive reflux and take (2) 40mg pills each day. The Cinnamon vaping which I have become VERY VERY fond of has actually helped ease my stomach issues. I would really recommend seeing a doctor. I am not a doctor but I am an police officer with EMT certs. Any time projectile vommiting occurs there are chances of grater risks then just spraying the toilet.. We want you to stick around in the vaping fmaily for a long time to come. So get checked out. Just to be safe...

Alas, I've thought of that and have tried different vendors (Tasty Vapor, Vaporbomb, AmericanELiquid) all with the same result. I have some Ms.T's which I haven't tried yet, but fear it will have the same effect. This only occurs with the hot cinnamon flavors. BWB Blast or flavors like cinnabun don't do this to me, but they also don't have the same cinnamon flavor I love.

Jturse, I just saw your post. I know acid reflux runs in my family. My mother has it pretty bad and it has resulted in damage to her esophagus. Since my own health issues seem to mimic hers, I tend to watch for signs of problems she has had. Until now I have never had any major issues with acid reflux other than the occasional occurence which has easily been handled by otc medications. I've never experienced this projectile vomiting before. It happens whenever I vape cinnamon and goes away if I don't vape cinnamon. Maybe it's an allergy, maybe not. Whatever the cause, it seems it will be easily avoided if I just stay away from the cinnamon liquids. It just makes me sad to have to do so since I do love the flavor so much. At least I still have my waffles to fall back on. I will definitely be around the vaping community for a long, long time. Going back to smoking is out of the question!

Unfortunately for me, there are many flavors that trigger terrible stomach burning/reflux types of pains. I've had digestive issues for years ever since having a gallbladder removed. I experience it with everything form cinnamon (even the mild ones you mentioned), anything with heavy coffee, nutmeg, or tart fruit flavorings. The only thing that seems to help is guzzling Pepto out of the bottle, and even then the burn can still be there for days. It's very unfortunate, as I really can't have much fun experimenting with a lot of flavors, and I can't even touch some of them that would otherwise be my favorites.

Just stay away from what irritates your stomach - I don't think it calls for alarm or a doctor's visit unless it persists despite avoiding what triggers it. and you definitely want to avoid anything that irritates your stomach - it can make you vulnerable to ulcers, infections, stomach and esophageal cancer, etc...No ejuice flavor is worth those kinds of consequences!
