Welcome to the Democratic People's Republic of Kalifornia (the "other" DPRK). :D

I guess no one still uses 510 based cig-a-likes and refillable cartos? That was what I originally used. Actually I used GreenSmartLiving | Starter Kits | and at first I refilled their cartos then found I could buy empty Boge cartos and fill those. Are cartos even still available?

Welcome to the Democratic People's Republic of Kalifornia (the "other" DPRK)
Ain't that the truth. Once everyone who votes has the chance to be violated by senseless laws and taxes, they'll learn. Then we can all be on the "Do as you please as long as you don't impeded on another's rights to do as they please" bandwagon. I've been voting that way since I was 20 and I'll be 57 next month.

I think I like that Gereen ecig. Actually I think I might buy one as well as several others and see which one I like the best.

I also found out that all of the big ecig manufacturers like Blu, Mark Ten and others all charge the new 100% tax for Californians. Haha, actually I think its more like 65%, but it seems like 100% after you add in the regular state tax. But I have looked at a few smaller sellers and it looks like they don't charge that tax. I'm not sure why, but that's a good thing to know. Maybe it's just because they are small sellers that only know their local laws and don't know about California laws or don't really give a damn. So, I'm probably going to do my business with one of those smaller sellers. It's better to support small businesses anyway.

Hey, there’s always Missouri. Beautiful state. Or Kansas. I hear they want to remove medical care from the old and sick down there. Should do wonders for their economy.

I will say this, the last time I used one of those was back in 2013. They got me and the wife to quit smoking back then. I have no clue if the quality has gone up, down or stayed the same but back then, they did work, and did the trick for us.

One way around the taxes is if you have a friend/relative that lives in a no/low tax state, have them order for you (their address as billing address), and try to use your address for the shipping address. I am pretty sure taxes are based on Billing address, not Shipping address. If that doesn't work, ship to their house then they can forward it to you. More in shipping with the second method but still going to be less than CA taxes.

Holy cow!!!! I think Scott was right when he said California is the DPRK. I finally got home as was about to place an order for a Halo G6 and when I went to checkout, the site said USPS is not available to my address at this time. I guess we are the commies of the USA now.

And I apologize to any commies I may have offended here.:lol::lol:

Oh well. At least MigVapor is willing to ship to me. I ended up getting one of their starter kits. It's probably better than the G6 anyway. From what I understand, the MigVapor ecig operates at 4.2 volts until it's dead. The others only vape at 3.7 volts. I'm not sure how true that is, but I read it and heard it on the internet. (crosses fingers).

I tend to use an all-in-one (AIO) when I need something that works like a cig-alike device. I have two of them that fill different niches.

For stealth and maximum convenience I use a Vaporesso Aurora. The form factor is almost identical to a Zippo lighter and it gives a very satisfying vape if you get the right combo of VG/PG and nic% juice in the thing. For me that's about 33VG/66PG and 18 nic; for a punchy throat hit and a nice kick of nicotine, with a very small cloud that dissipates quickly. I can carry this around in my pocket and it lasts about as long as ten cigarettes would.

For other times when I will be vaping in what would otherwise be smoking situations I use a Kangertech EVOD Pro (version one) with 50/50 at 12 nic. I carry this in a zippered eGo case with backup fluid, batteries, and atomizers.

I also live in The Democratic People's Republic Of Kommiefornia and I buy my juice from Mister E Liquid 0 VG / 100 PG at 24 nic, then I mix in my own VG to get it where I want. I have pretty much gone over to KayFun style RBA's though unless I "need" to use one of the AIO's.

Here's an AIO that looks pretty good for someone who needs something to carry around:

maxresdefault.jpg

XOMO Mimi All-in-One Starter Kit

Costs $18 and it has a 1200 mAh battery built into it, and the "pods" are refillable. You get one pod with the thing and you can buy a four pack for $10 from My Vapor Store.

Well you MAY be in luck. I am not sure where in CA Pleasanton is, but it looks like the DPRK areas of CA may be getting kicked out. Maybe you will be lucky and end up in the sane area: New California declares 'independence' from California in bid to become 51st state

Hey Scott. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. That's right in the heart of what would be the old California . If the New California decides to be a different state. They'd be in a world of trouble. Most of those counties are comprised of little Podunk cities. Not that there's anything wrong with podunk cities. Hell, I own a vacation house in one of those cities. And I love it up there. I just spent the whole New Year weekend up there.

The real problem is the idiots we vote into office. I don't mind living in a blue state. But the far left politics needs to stop. It's sickening when false information created new laws. We can use the tobacco tax as one of the new laws thatwas created as proof. Who the he'll comes up with a 65% tax? That's just ridiculous. I don't care what the product is. If someone wants to smoke or vape. They should smoke or vape. And whoever makes suck a ridiculous law should be relieved of the duties as lawmaker. But they pass these laws by bull.... information that they pass off as facts. And people actually believe it. In some cities they even have laws that state you cannot vape or smoke within 100 yards of the entrance of a public building . That means that you cannot smoke or vape in downtown because there is no place further than 100 yards away from am entrance. And then people will sit outside at the local Starbucks as thousands of cars and trucks drive by. I'm sure there have even been some customers at Starbucks saying how wonderful it is that downtown is smoke and vape free as they sit there inhaling exhaust from all the traffic. How effing stupid is that?

Splitting up Cali has been around as a serious modern idea for over 75 years. I don't think it will happen. This latest goofy map (Old and New Cali) is one of the worst I've seen floated around. The best one I've seen splits Cali into three regions. Northern, Central, and Southern California. It's a workable idea...but it's still not going to happen. Those same :censored: lawmakers who make those stupid :censored: laws up aren't going to be willing to give up any influence or sources of income so they aren't going to be willing to give up any of 'their' population. The vaping laws and taxes aren't based on promoting public health. They are based on a need to control people and take their money. That's pretty much it. Our taxes (I say 'our' because I also live in the PDRK) are currently being used to pump out anti-vaping propaganda. Billboards, school programs, presences on the internet. It's all there right in front of us.

Unfortunately politics is affecting vaping. Cities are enacting punitive legislation, and states are funding propaganda.
Which has nothing to do with dividing a state up for political gain. Or cigalikes which is what the thread was originally about. The political attack against ecigs is non partisan. It’s happening from both ends. Groups in both parties have tried to stop it and been shut down by party higher ups. There’s too much money involved. The tactics used differ because the parties differ but the effect is the same.

Please drop it. I posted what I thought was a funny story from USA Today. I had no idea anyone would actually take it seriously, much less personally. Especially since it will never happen anyway. If you have a problem with the article, please take it up with USA Today and the author. Sheesh.

The cigalikes out here are being banned from various cities because they are considered to be flavored even if the predominant flavor is "tobacco." California is odd because there is a combination of heavily populated areas with a very strong lean in one political direction, and sparsely populated areas with a very strong lean in the opposite direction. The more densely populated areas and the islands of communities that mimic them are the ones that are trying to shut down vaping. Not the sparsely populated areas, they are largely indifferent. That's just one of the reasons (over regulation) that is fueling the political divide.

That's very true. And even some of the anti vape commercials are all about children loving the flavors. Although I have to say that I've never seen a child vaping so I guess that's fake news.

A few years ago when the flavor issue came up. I suggested on this site that the only flavors should be penis and vagina. That way only adults would want to vape.:lol:
I'll have to find that post and link it.

I think I hear the sounds of jangling chains and a pad lock heading this way. Be careful with that kind of talk unless you want this thread locked.
