Chicago is trying to ban ecigs?!

I just heard about this and checked the net for more info and found this:

As for banning the sales to minors, yes I understand and I agree. But to put the ecig in the same category as tobacco is simply ridiculous. I don't know like this at all. I have also seen that some insurance companies are putting e cigs in the same category as someone that uses tobacco.
What do you all think and do you think there is something that can be done? I feel this is just ignorance on the part of politicians.

It's fear mongering. There are not enough peer reviewed studies of second hand vapor for us to shut the politicians down. We're also dealing with a public that has been trained for decades to completely demonize tobacco, and nicotine gets the same response - a lot of people, and I mean an uncomfortable amount of people think nicotine in any amount will kill you or give you cancer, even if you point out that there are many plants that produce nicotine, like tomatoes. It's like when people complain of smoker's houses being covered in disgusting nicotine...um, no, that would be TAR.

That's why we all need to join the fight - it's ignorance of the realities at all levels.

And I do believe by being politically correct and afraid of stepping on toes, we have hurt ourselves because had we not, perhaps vaping would be bigger and harder to shut down.

I think it comes down to ignorance and money......
Research and vote accordingly, let your voice be heard on all issues you find important.
Vaping is just one thing politicians need to hear about.
