Price-wise, you might be well off to go to Joann Fabric if there's one nearby. They always have 40% off coupons online, and if the foam isn't on sale already you can use the coupon on that. I did a reupholsery job a while back and used a combo of straight razor and electric knife. Worked pretty easily and the edges came out relatively clean (I could have done better, but they weren't visible on the end product so I didn't try).

Good luck!

You are looking for "closed cell foam" it is easily cut with a kit from harbor freight. Unless you wanna put some of that kanthal wire to use and make a foam cutter. I used a camping matt from an outdoor store doubled up in my tool box. I then shadowed my tools and cut out homes for my wrenchs etc. Looks amazing and nothing moves when a drawer is shut. The open cell foam from a fabric store suxs to work with.

Decided to give it a go with whatever was within an arms reach. Just for voops and giggles. Please allow me to introduce... the 1 ohm mechanical mod foam cutter.

Poorly twisted 0.32mm (~28 awg) kanthal at 1 ohm. Freshly drained UD Agt. Mechanical mod. Cuts through foam like a hot knife through butter. Vaporized foam smells nasty.

Possible improvements to the "design" (lol)... An atty with posts with holes. A VV/VW mod. A mod with a top side-button for more pen-like handling. Some ~25 awg no-res wire.

Go to ikea and buy one or two of those seni hard seat cushions made of foam, cut them mofos into pices that match the suitcase leaving pretty much no room when closed, cover it with a nice color crushed velvet (red to a black suitcase?) and when you put it in there the foam will hold it in place and the velvet will keep it from getting any sorts of scratches... Cheap and easy just apply glue :p

I got one of the boxes from Walmart last night, but wanted to get some foam to put in it. I have been searching all over the place and can find it on line, but was hoping to find a place that I could just drive to and get some. any idea of some stores that carry the pelican foam or anything else that I can try?
