Hi Da... lots of mods out there to choose from. I recommend looking at the "Pictures of Your Set Up" thread and also going to the vendor section to get an idea of some of the mods on the market.

On your cheap, mechanical 18650-based mention, I'd say Bolt: Smoktech 510 BOLT MOD - Black. It's a Chinese knockoff of a Silver Bullet at half the price—and you get, as they say, what you pay for.
It gets more complicated if you want to use a Kick, as the list of devices Evolve has tested and certified as compatible isn't very long. The best of the lot (i.e., less expensive, as opposed to cheap) is probably the Roughstack: Maxi RoughStack V2

I'm looking for a cheap mod. Maybe a mechanical one (18650) that could work with The Kick. Do you have any suggestions?
Or a cheap box mod?
The Silver Bullet with the extention so the kick will fit with an 18650 hands down
If you put a Kick into the loop, you've forfeited all-mechanical purity. If you pay for an SB and extension and Kick, you've pushed the cost well beyond that of a Buzz Pro—all for retrofitted VV capability that requires you to disassemble your device every time you want to adjust the voltage.
