Hi guys, I just bought an Rx200s, and it costed me a lot, especially to get 3x18650 cells, so I couldn't afford to get an external charger, and I opted to charge it, for the time being, using the USB cable.

It is showing adequate charge on all 3 cells, and I'm confident it is changing properly.

My question is, what should be the specs of the charger so as to not fry the charging circuitry? I tried googling power ratings for the device or the chip but found nothing.

Right now I'm using an old iPhone charger that delivers 5v and 1A, it takes a while to charge fully, but it does eventually, and I'm scared to use a Samsung 2A charger.

Please advise.

The mod will only draw what the internal charger will use. If your mod is rated to charge at 1A, placing it on a 2A wall wart won't speed it up. If it can handle 2A (which I don't believe the RX200s can) and you use a 1A wall wart, it will charge slowly able to only draw 1A.

When you say which I don't believe the mod can do, does that mean the internal circuitry will fry or it will just ignore the extra input current?

It will ignore the extra power availability. The wall wart is just a transformer, it's the charging chip on the board hat pulls the current to charge with. the wall wart does not push power into the mod.

Be aware the 200s is not known as the most reliable at balance charging. That can be an issue over time with imbalanced batteries.

To... hmm... can't think of the word I want... not rectify, not avoid... somewhere jusy shy of correct... anyways, that balance charge issue can be dealt with short term - until you can afford a charger - by removing the batteries, and rotating them in their slots...

Ameliorate? Hmmm...

DJLsb vapes reviewed the RX 200 and the RX 2/3... Neither of them correctly balance the batteries with internal charging... He I'd not review the RX 200s... Since that mod was released in between those two I can only assume that it does not either... I would definitely make it a priority to get an external charger... It's a great mod but that's just kinda what you have to do with it... When I had the RX 200 I had 6 batteries 2 sets I kept separate. One in the charger one in the mod...

Actually when I first got it, I treated my old mod like a slave and charged the 3 batts separate, took a while but there were all good
