The TN270 is not rated for 18350 batteries. It is rated for 18650, 18500, and 14500 series only. Consequently, it is not recommended to charge 18350 batteries with it even though they do fit. I have a few TN270s and I have had issues with them...so you could say I am biased but I do not advocate charging any battery on any charger in which the charger does not state it was designed for. Provape sells this model as well and does not advertise it as 18350 capable either.

The XTARii and Pila are the best chargers on the market for all IMR and ICR batteries commonly used in these mods (and flashlights). In order to charge a 18350 on them, you will need what is called a "spacer".

Nickzac, thanks for the reply. Would you know if the pila comes with the spacers needed for the 18350 battery or are the a separate purchase?

Thanks,
Frazz

Hi Frazz,

They are separate purchases. They are usually under $2. I got them from Provape, but I imagine many people sell them.

If you go the xtar route, 310vapers has a good price. A wp2 ii, plus second pair of spacers (I use them for 16340, also use them for 18350) is $18 delivered. I just picked up a second one this past week, so I have one set to 1 amp for 18650, the other at 0.5 a for the smaller batteries. A car power adapter is included in the price :)

I was thinking about the wp6 and also the mp2. Any input on those models?

The XTAR chargers are excellent. The MP2 is nice because you can charge LiFePO4 batteries in addition to ICR/IMRs. However, if you ever go to a 18500 or 18650, it will not work. The Pila is thought to be the best in the industry. The accuracy and charging termination consistency is the best going by existing literature. Even with the most accurate multimeters, charging voltage is shown to be dead on 4.2 volts...this is important because exceeding 4.2 volts can be dangerous. With that said, the XTAR WP2 is also very consistent and well built. The Pila will charge right up to 4.20 volts, where as the XTAR is ever so slightly less. The difference is that charging slightly lower can prolong service life, especially if the batteries are not being discharged shortly after the charge. But either of the two names make chargers that are the best for ideal battery health and longevity.

I know this post is a bit dated but in case someone else stumbles across it, folks should know that Provari sells this charger for the 18350 batteries used in the mini... At least it is a default accessory when you order. So far, it has been working fine for me. Charges to a full 4.2v.

That charger will work fine for 18350s. ProVape says it will work for 16340, 14250 but they don't list the larger 18350??? Hmmm..... Might be a mistake or a simple oversight. ;)

Bottom line, if it is a 3.6/3.7v lithium battery and it will fit in the charger....it will work. HOWEVER, I would not use that charger with any battery less then 700mAh. The 500mA charge rate is too high for anything less than 700mAh.
