Ok been vaping for awhile now. I have tried many different things to get that super duper tasty hit time and time again.

I have tried regular cartomizers and the LR cartomizer both taste like crap to me. I fill them using the condom and spin method making sure they are full.

What is working the best for me right now is a Riva with a LR atomizer and the blue foam dart mod or dripping on a modifed LR atomizer.

Cartomizer are a complete waste for me they taste like crap compared to the above mentioned method. The vape is hot, almost no taste of e-juice and most of the time just plain does not do it for me.

I have filled them and let them sit over noght give them a spin and some juice so much so that I have had to blow out the excess and still no satisfaction:(

I like the idea but they are a no go for me unless some one can shed some light on the correct way to get these thing to work for me.

I believe there to be a sweet spot for cartos as well as attys. For me a Boge carto @5V tastes better than anything to me, but I like the warmth, I wouldn't call it hot. I've got the same juice set up dripping on a LR atty @ 3.7, so it it fairly close in watts and it tastes better in the carto to me.

Everyone is different,so maybe they aren't for you. You wouldn't be the only one. I have one LR carto somebody gave me and I don't like it. Like you when not using a carto I use the BFD and find it as good as dripping without the hassle. It just seems to keep the perfect amount of juice on the atty at all times, whereas dripping I go from flooded to good to dry, over and over.Granted if I put the effort into dripping that I do with the others I'd probably like it just as well.

Back to topic. If you haven't tried a Boge carto at a higher voltage I'd do that before throwing in the towel.

CRK,
I agree 100%. I tried carto's. I really, really did. Went through all the fill, spin, drain, blow. Repeat. (I believe they were the SLB Soft caps.) Never got anything good out of them. Maybe a puff or two of bad taste, then burn flavor. Even worse at 6V.
Went back to cartridges and all the mods. Still use the BFM on my SB and it's OK.
Carto and Cart hassles are what pushed me over to the REO. I'm glad they did.;)

Sounds like you do, what we all do, that works for us. Perhaps Cartos are just not right for you?

If the Riva with Blue and a LR atty gives you what your looking for, I would stay with it.

Cartomizers are best with PT's, V4L's cool cartomizers are even better since they don't get as hot.. The best way for me is to fill them up like you mentioned and after first use, leaving white cap off and adding 2-3 drops to center everytime I vape.. kinda like dripping without having to do the cleaning of atomizer stuff... You get a fresh juice taste each time you vape and the cartomizers, at least in my case, are lasting weeks for me 99% of the time..

I like cartos, but I only run them at 3.7. I've got a little stash of the old HR cartos that I use on my PT.

They aren't for everyone, and finding what works for you is key.

More cartos for me!

Cartos don't perform well at lower voltage. I use V4l, 808, 510 and smokeless delite cartos and they all need from 4.5 to 5 volts to perform.

This is a good example of you have to find what works for you. One person says they tried them at 3.7v and the other says 5.0v

In my mind, neither is right and neither is wrong. They have just found what works for them and are suggesting you try it.

If you try all the fill techs, different "brands" of cartos, high / low voltage, good e-Juice and you still don't like cartos, then they just aren't right for you.

There are variations in cartos just like attys. I have used LR 510 cartos from Provape and once I got the filling system down (condom) I find they are pretty good for being on the road without having to constantly fill. Good vapor and TH. Topping off from the top does not give me much vape time til refill. I can't vape like a fiend as the filler does not wick fast.

I tried 510 LR cartos from Clouds of Vapor and with the same fill method, I only get 2 or 3 good tasting vapes before heavy burning taste. I think the carto has a different design as to where the element sits in the carto. No more COV cartos for me.

If I have time to use condom fill method, the Provape cartos are great, but dripping seems easier most of the time.

Ummm how about some cliff notes? That thread is 138 pages long:laugh:

We're working on it, promise! We just need Lu to visit us again and sticky the pertinent info. In the meantime, go to page 168 (in the "burning" thread), post # 1677. That's a place to start.

Just the facts, ma'am.
