Howdy yall!

I ordered some more great stuff again from the fine folks at Canvape, and as usual, it was shipped within a day and I got an e-mail from Canada Post this past Friday (11:30am) while I was at work, that the package was successfully delivered.

Great, I thought to myself, they must have put it in the mail box or given it to my son that was at home all day. Well when I got home at 4 pm checked the mailbox and, nop, empty. Then ask my son if he got the package... nop? hmmm

So I decide to wait till at least Monday to see if it was just a " premature" scan error. Nop! still no package today :-(

Has this ever happened to you guys? Should I wait a few more days before going "postal" on the post office??? hehehe

ps, I'm not running out of juice or anything... so there is no big rush, but still, that package contains batteries for my "yet to arrive" provari. I'd hate to receive the provari and not have any batteries to put in it.

pps, I did contact Canvape on Friday to let them know. Tom replied very promptly to keep him in the know of the situation... so I let him know today that there was still no package.

I've had situations where Canada Post tried to deliver, no one was home so the delivery guy took it to the postal outlet. They mailed the notice from the outlet - which took a day or two to arrive. Why he didn't fill out the form and leave it on the door - nobody could explain that to me. Canvape can start an investigation to make sure it didn't get lost in the ether.

I have once received a delivery notice and when I went to pick up the parcel at the post office, there was no sign of it. Canada Post had to initiate trace and found it elsewhere... I was able to pick it up following day. Your case, however, is different. Best thing would be to talk to your nearest post office and check with your neighbours. Hopefully you will find it soon before the arrival of Provari.

Yikes! Was it xpresspost or expedited parcel? If it was expedited, give it a couple of days since it may have been mis-scanned and rerouted? Could have scanned as delivered when they meant to scan as something else. If it was xpresspost, I'd be a little more worried since the tracking updates are "a lot" more reliable and the packages are scanned at each hand-off from what I've seen.

I find canada post tends to pull through, but I keep reading these damned horror stories.

I've gotten the premature scan thing and then checked a few hours later and my package mysteriously showed up without a doorbell ring or anything. I've also gotten an email saying my package was delivered half a month after it was actually delivered. Canada post's tracking is very unreliable

No, I haven't call them. I was thinking it's only the sender that can call in a case like this?

Perhaps I'll give them a call tomorrow afternoon if I haven't got news form Tom.

Generally, only the sender can make changes or file claims... I've found though that with a polite manner and a few calls you can usually get someone who is really willing to help you.

I was expedited. Usually from Canvape it takes 2-3 working days max. you're right about the tracking being very unreliable... twice, on 2 other package last month, I gotten on the tracking site and it says: Item out for delivery, then just to go back to the post office to be out for delivery again the next day, and I was at home the hole time... I think I'll become worried if it takes more then 7 days...

I've always just gotten "the notice" my postie won't/doesn't carry packages I guess.
I've had them delivered to post offices from one side of town to the other.
The notice should tell you where it's at and when you can pick it up.

Well that's the thing, no notice... just the web site that says it was successfully delivered.. :-(

Sorry to hear your dilemma. Check with your neighbours. My previous postal carrier is dyslexic.

dyslexic postal carrier???? lol I guess it couldn't be worst than a blind bus driver! (not that I want to make fun at people with disabilities... ) sometime you just got to laugh it off...

Thanks Mike

It started happening to me about 2 months ago, last week was the 3rd time I saw that "Successfully delivered" status message without a package to go with it. I made some calls, did some research and I was told that this happens on cold days when posties don't feel like working, so they mark everything as "Successfully Delivered" and leave all the stuff in the truck overnight. Brilliant eh?

Well, I got the package today! Turns out the mail man had put it in 210 apt 3 and not my 208 apt 3 (a bit dyslectic?)..

No harm done, the mail man was very apologetic and there was nothing in there to freeze.

All ends good.

Thanks for all your input ppl, it's nice just to vent a bit around like that, sometimes.

PS: Canvape Tom, was pretty fast on the case.. :) can't go wrong ordering with great service.

Cheers all.
