PG (propylene glycol) is more liquid than VG (vegetable glycerine)
PG is also a better carrier of flavors than VG

Typical 70PG/30VG mixtures means 70% and 30% for a given volume which is typically a good compromise for nice amount of vapor on exhale and good flavor

Then you have base nic juice that are or PG base or VG base that you take into account when you mix your DIY

Also, browse your mouse over terms you are not familiar with, sometimes it pops up a lil bubble with the proper name in it (try it on PG or VG)

Hope this help

In my experiance, PG is going to be thinner, provide more of a throat hit, and retain more flavor. While your VG is going to be thicker, add a sweet washed out flavor to your juice, and provide larger plumes. Don't get me wrong there are some amaizing flavorful juices out there that are 100% VG like Boba's Bounty or Hype from Alien Visions (and the plumes are thick, almost dangeriouse while driving without a window down). In most cases thinner juices prime through devices better not to be mistaken with wicking, but if you can get the wick primed (get the whole wick wet with your juice) the wicking will work just fine. I would say every person has there own preference but 70%/30%:VG/PG is a good place to start.

the above answers are good info
PG - thinner more watery - more throat hit, more taste, better wicking, less burnt taste
VG - thicker liquid - more VG = more vapour, less taste and depending on PV used may help with LESS LEAKING, but too much may cause wicking problems leading to more burnt tastes

So a mix of these is usually used... I prefer 60/40 VG/PG... but having some PG and VG on hand to adjust your eLiquid would be handy
