Can less PG mean less cough?

I hope this isn't a common question... Going on a week of vaping now but still having some occasional problem with coughing after hitting the tornado/ego (or the 510 for that matter). Have some liquids from a few different companies, but not sure their PG content.

Anyway, I've read that PG is what causes the 'throat hit' so I'm wondering if it may be causing me too cough too frequently as well. I've ordered some liquids from vaporbomb, all 50/50 PG/VG, and I'm hoping that I'll better tolerate the vapor. Has anyone noticed a difference in their coughing by using more VG?

It's not a big problem for me, still loving being a vaper, but now and then I take in too much vapor and it forces a hasty exit!

For a test, you could try vaping some 100% VG. The stuff's available at most drug stores -- tell them you want pure vegetable glycerin, USP. I paid about $6 for a 6 oz bottle at Walmart. The bottle may say that it's skin protectant -- the bottle should clearly say glycerin, USP, and the ingredients should state over 99.5% glycerin, nothing else listed. For example:
Walmart.com: Humco: Skin Protectant Glycerin Usp, 6 oz: Beauty

TH is generally from flavoring or high nic content. If you feel the throat hit is too high, try different flavors or maybe lower nicotine. Also, I had a dekang blueberry juice that I COULD NOT vape without coughing, period. It was low nic (about the same as my other juices) but it just irritated my throat instantly.

Coughing can also mean your vaping technique needs work - I cough STILL if I inahle too hard (like a cig) so make sure you're not doing that :)

Jay's right, it's probably the first thing you want to try since it's the quickest and easiest to implement. To expand on his answer; try taking the vapor into your mouth first and then into your lungs instead of straight down your windpipe. If that doesn't work then the other tips are all good ones as well, Go through one at a time until you find the solution that fits you. It takes time to get used to vaping, just like it probably did when you first started smoking.

Thanks, everybody. I've been like half-inhaling sometimes, other times just trying to inhale slowly. Not knowing how much I've sucked in seems like part of the problem.

I wonder also if part of it might be that my attys are all pretty new. Got five of them and they're only a week old. I just put one thru the isopropyl alcohol treatment posted in another section by another user (cozzfan I think it is?), and the vapes it's producing seem to be smoother.

edit - I may have spoken a bit too soon. Tried the isopropyl rinse on another atty and I'm having the paint chippage some others reported. The 2 atties that came with my tornado/ego didn't lose paint but the one from eliquidplanet did. Not a big deal for me since the tornado's cone covers the atty, but thought I should add the info nonetheless.
