Can I vape nicotine in Australia?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi, in september I'll go to Sydney, but I don't know the law there.O
On the net I only found this:

"People of Oz, no worries! You can simply order your nicotine e-cigarettes, e-cigars, personal vaporizers, and e-liquid online from a company based outside of Australia, and have them delivered directly to your door."

Can I bring an atomizer like russian 91% there? can i vape nicotine in OZ? Can I bring my concentrates and nicotine there, or are forbidden for airport security? If not, how many liquids/nicotine can I bring with me?
Last question: if base nicotine is allowed, there is a shop in Sydney (or some producer) that sell the base nicotine liquid and aromas?

thanks.

Q: Can I bring an atomizer like russian 91% there?
A: I don't know what it is, but there are generally no restrictions on any equipment.

Q: can i vape nicotine in OZ?
A: Yes, you can.

Q: Can I bring my concentrates and nicotine there, or are forbidden for airport security? If not, how many liquids/nicotine can I bring with me?
A: You can bring nicotine/liquids equivalent to 3 months personal use.

Q: Last question: if base nicotine is allowed, there is a shop in Sydney (or some producer) that sell the base nicotine liquid and aromas?
A: There are no brick and mortar shops in Sydney or anywhere else in Australia.

You May find the following useful:
Civil Aviation Safety Authority - eCigarettes and electronic cigarettes
Alcohol/Cig/Tobacco2

Happy traveling!

so everybody that vape nicotine in OZ, import it from another country??
If yes, wich is the better place to take it for quality, shipping and price of nicotine ?
If I take it outside OZ, I can take it a quantity for more than 3 month of personal use?

Don't know how long you plan to be there but based on what I just read here. If I knew the address where I would be staying or a friend's address, I would have my juice/nic sent there.
I think to stay there for an year. I don't have friends in OZ and I'll choose the place to stay when I'll be there. I could sent them by my friends here when I find a place to stay in OZ, but everything depends on how many liquid I can send... It's always based on the 3 month of personal use?
who knows how many liquid I use, if 2 ml per day or 20 ml ?? This is absurd, but however I think that if I ship too much liquid, probably if checked they block it!! The problem is that I don't know how many liquid is too much for them....

Q: so everybody that vape nicotine in OZ, import it from another country??
A: Yes, this is correct. People get nicotine liquid from US, UK, China. Don't knock China, after all they invented the stuff.

Q: If yes, wich is the better place to take it for quality, shipping and price of nicotine ?
A: There is a multitude of places shipping to OZ (see another thread in this forum). Mt Baker (US) is popular, inexpensive and relatively fast. Health Cabin (China) is another place.

Q: If I take it outside OZ, I can take it a quantity for more than 3 month of personal use?
A: It all depends where you are going to take it.

Q: It's always based on the 3 month of personal use?
A: Yes, it is a general ruling for many other poisonous substances.

A: No one knows that. Basically it shouldn't look like commercial quantities, because it is forbidden to sell nicotine in OZ. You need to think how much you need for 3 months and bring a little more. Once you have an address in OZ you can order more. I never had more than 300 ml in one shipment, but I know that others had much more without any customs problems. If you unsure of address but you know which area you are staying at you could get yourself a Post Office box, it's not very expensive.

Uhm.... I have last questions:
1) from your answers, I understand that when I' ll be in OZ I can take all the nicotine that I need outside the country, also 1 liter, and you are sure that nobody could block it, correct?
2) If I have an address to an apartment there, I can get it directely at home? If I'm at work and the pack arrives, they leave into my letter box a paper written something similar to "You can get the pack to the post office", or it happens something different? if I must go to post office, they take extra money for holding my pack there?
3) I always take base nicotine with 9 mg. Which shop sells me this precise kind of base, with PG 50%, VG 40% and H2O 10% ?? sorry but in shops I only found the pure nicotine, not the base that I'm searching.

A: The scenario you are presenting is not very clear for me. You are correct stating that you should get all your nicotine products outside the country. Either you bring them in or you order from overseas once you are in Australia. You are restricted to 3 months worth of supply. I cannot guarantee that 1 liter will be seen as 3 months supply. I never ordered more than 300ml. In you place I would be a bit more cautious.

A: How is your parcel delivered depends on what kind of shipment your requested from the supplier. If it is a standard parcel it will be dropped in your mail box if it fits. If it doesn't fit you will have a notice to collect it from the post office (there is no charge for that). If it's a courier and you are not at home then depending on your instructions to the supplier it will be left at your door or there will be a note with instructions how to get it (usually you get it from the post office).

A: I'm sorry, but I don't mix my own so I don't know who sells nicotine base as you described. How do you get the stuff now? If you have a brick and mortar shop where you live perhaps you could simply ask them. Either they can send the stuff to you in Australia or tell you who can.

I'm sorry for not being more clear. I have a feeling that I'm mostly guessing your intentions. If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hi there! I am a vaper from Sydney! Google Steam e-cigs, our one and only B and M. You cannot buy nicotine liquid in Aus, we import 100mg/ml unflavored Nic liquid. You can buy doublers locally. Doublers are bottles of liquid that are double the flavor strength, to which we add unflavored Nic, PG and VG until we end up with liquid to our desired strength. There are many helpful vapers here that will gladly help you during your stay. AVF, the forum linked up there ^^^^^^^^ Is the best place to start. Hope to see you there soon!

thanks a lot guys, your answers really helps me!! But I prefer to have directly the nicotine base with 9mg and PV/VG as I asked. So, if you know some US seller (or other seller) that have it in his shop, 300ml or 500ml, don' t hesitate to write me here, thanks!!! :)

I personally buy my nicotine liquid from JuiceRay in the US and have it shipped over, I buy 100mg mixed 50/50 as it is much easier when working with 50/50 doublers. Many people use 100% PG Nicotine liquid too. I know JuiceRay do not mix what you are asking for and no others do to the best of my knowledge.

A friend uses this company who send nicotine liquid to Australia premixed in any VG/PG combination but no H20, you may need to do this part yourself, they are based in China and shipping is quite quick to Australia: Nicotine Mixed Liquid

As some other posters said try AVF Forum for good local information, there are now a number of B&M shops open around Australia including Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Many vendors make doublers to mix in your own nicotine juice including VapourEyes, VapeKing, JuiceWhore and VapingMad. I personally order from VapourEyes.

Queensland (QLD). Vapers beware! Banana benders are not that keen in seeing e-cigarettes in their midst. According to the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation of 1996, it states specifically on Part 4 Section 217 that a person cannot legally buy, own or sell a regulated substance that is classified as a Poison. In its Appendix 7b Section 3, nicotine is listed as a regulated poison. As of February 2011, seizures have been enforced.

New South Wales (NSW). South of Queensland is the metropolitan city of Sydney, the capital of New South Wales. At the moment, there are no restrictions imposed on buying or having nicotine containing substances. Selling nicotine is prohibited.

Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Keep your guard up in Canberra. In the ACT Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act of 2008, a provision in Chapter 3 Part 3.1 Section 12 that says nicotine is classified as a Schedule 7 poison.

Victoria (VIC). In smallest state of Australia is another populous city capital, Melbourne. It states in the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act of 1981, that there are no current prohibitions for nicotine if it is for personal use. Nicotine use in e-cigarettes is considered as Schedule 2 or Schedule 6.

Tasmania (TAS). The Holiday Isle is another liberal Australian state when it comes to e-cig usage. The Tasmanian Poisons Act of 1971 and the Poisons Regulation of 2008 does not prevent anyone from having nicotine in their possession. Hobart is the largest city of the state but even Macquarie island near the Antarctic also imposes the same laws on nicotine products.

South Australia (SA). Truly the Festival State, you can breathe easy with the Croweaters of Adelaide when it comes to vaping nicotine. It holds the same policy as New South Wales when it comes to the e-cigs. In their South Australian Controlled Substances (Poisons) Regulation of 1991, only retailing or wholesaling nicotine containing products are forbidden.

Northern Territory (NT). Right smack in the northern part of Australia is an ambivalent haven for vapers. You can be in possession of nicotine containing substances if you apply for a permit. Otherwise, the provision on Part 11 of the NT Poisons and Dangerous Drugs Act consider nicotine and all the other Schedule 7 chemicals as hands off.

Western Australia (WA). Another state that allows you to enjoy puffs of nicotine rich vapours surrounds its capital city of Perth. The Western Australian Poisons Act 1964 and the Poisons Regulation of 1965 mention limitations on nicotine. It cannot be sold outright but can be consumed for personal use.
