Snus extraction is shockingly easy. If you prefer a PG mix just put about 5 little pouches in a small container and cover with PG. I'm a VG person so I used a syringe to wet the pouches slightly with distilled water. Not drippy just damp. Then I covered them with VG. I shook them daily and let them sit for a couple of days. In about 4 days the fluid was dark brown and full flavored. Took out the pouches and squished them slightly to get the fluid out and that was that. Since I did not use much water the fluid was not any thinner than PG so it will not make mixes runny on its own. Flavor is pretty strong but you may need to use 20-25 percent to get the flavor your looking for. I don't use it stand alone but as a component in a tobacco mix I do.

Just for you I measured to see how much I have. Looks like right at 10ml. I think I have used about 1ml so far so it made about 11ml. I used 10ml of VG and 2ml of distilled water with 5 snus packs. The container I used was quite small by the way so that the snus was covered but the fluid still had room to move when I shook it. Since your using just PG I think you can get away with 11ml total and still come very close to your goal of 10ml. My notes have 5-10 percent as the suggested amount to use by the way. I've not used that much but I was adding the snus to add depth. I used it in my home brew test at 4% with 5% ry4 (also had 2% marshmallow, 2% french vanilla and 2% em to smooth it).

Two things to keep in mind. One the snus has some soda component and you will be able to taste that in the flavoring if you taste it. That flavor has never carried over into my mixes though so don't worry about it. Second, because of that soda component it is possible that more nic will be extracted than normal. It will be a minimal amount but better you know than not.

Hah thanks a whole lot for the measurement :)

I'm thinking I'll use an empty pharmacy container of some sort to get it done. How strong is the soda component though? I've got a portion under my lip now, I don't quite taste it. Is it something only noticeable in juice?

That recipe sounds great btw, I'm gonna have to try it! As far as the additional nic, I sort of bounce around between 18 to 24 to even 36 at times, so it's no biggie :p

I read today exactly why that soda is there. It has to do with making it more alkaline so that the nicotine is absorbed in the mouth better. Smoke and I would guess vapor needs to be more toward acid for good absorption. Long and short is that you may want to add a couple of extra drops of apple cider vinegar to your mix to bring it back toward a neutral/slightly acid PH.

Ah, guess I'm gonna have to get some ACV then. I really haven't experimented with it much in a long time lol.

As of this morning (~10hr soak) the solution is starting to thicken up a bit and it's turning a darker shade of brown each hour. I've been giving it a few quick shakes every so often to keep things moving. Smelling the solution smells just like what it should taste like (a whole lot stronger than sniffing a snus can). Can't wait to try this out on Thursday/Friday.

Well, tried it. Mixed it at 22% and gave it a 20 minute hot water bath. I'm sure more steeping is definitely necessary though.

Anyway, I can't taste it at all honestly. The flavor is barely there and sweetener isn't really helping. I tried a drop of ACV and let it sit for a few hours, didn't get much better.

That didn't work out as planned...

Any ideas?

I just made e a separate 5ml mix at 24%, gonna let it sit for a week or two with daily hot water soaking, I hope that brings the flavor out some.

I soaked 5 packets in about 11-12ml of unflavored base at 75/25. Now I have this very dark and thick mixture, haven't removed the snus bags as yet though. Been 3 days soaking here.

Yes on the couple of more days of soaking. I'd also expect it to need at least a couple of days steeping to have a handle on the flavors because tobacco can be slow to mature.

Hrmm.. Which sort of sweetener? Sometimes EM can dim a flavor and the snus extract is pretty smooth (no big high or low notes) to even out. If your looking for a sweet tobacco using it my suggestion would be to use some TPA RY4 double as the under note in your mix. You don't need more than 2 or 3 percent and it will add some sweet and depth with caramel and vanilla. I also suspect you can drop the snus to 15% if you use a tobacco as the undertones and sweetener.

If your worried that the extract is getting to thick you could drop a couple of drops of distilled water in it to loosen it up a bit. But I doubt if you will need more than a couple of drops.

I'm using sucralose, can't find my EM at the moment... But I did look for it lol.

I guess a few days of steeping will help. I really want the mix to taste just like the snus, maybe some ry4 double will bring out that molasses or caramel note, I'll give it a shot!

Go to your local CVS. Look in the skincare isle..the chick stuff. At mine it is on the very bottom shelf and they only have one or two bottles so you may have to get someone to help you find it. There will be a 6 oz bottle of "Pure Glycerin" that will cost you around 5.99. Yes it is fine to use. It has a bit more "flavor" than the kind I get from Wizard labs but I don't notice the flavor carrying over in extractions.

Sucralose is fine though I understand it is easy for it to get to strong.

I know waiting stinks but sometimes it really has to happen with this stuff. I honestly don't think it is a month long wait like with some tobacco flavorings but it does take a little while.
