Burnt Taste with Halo Blank Cartomizers

So I've loved the pre-filled Halo cartomizers and mini-tanks, but I also ordered some blank cartomizers to fill. Out of the five I've ordered, all three have quickly developed a burnt taste (like when juice runs out) before the first refill.

I normally would feel to cartomizers with about 20 drops of juice and let them sit 30mins to an hour before using. They still have plenty of juice left when the burnt taste develops.

Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong? I've also refilled a couple of the pre-filled cartomizers and they still work great, but for some reason the blanks don't seem to work for me.

How are you priming/filling them? Just dripping juice (20 drops) and letting gravity/wicking do the rest?

It's "possible" that you're filling the top of the polyfill, but leaving the bottom dry and that's what is burning.

You may want to try a syringe/needle fill, or place a few drops and "thermometer shake" them to ensure that you're saturating the carto from top to bottom.

The pre-filled ones probably didn't run dry when you re-filled them. This is why I don't like filling cartos. Never got a hang of it. They would either flood or burn. When I do use cartos for discreet vaping, I use the pre-filled. I toss them when the flavor changes. This isn't a problem just with Halo cartos, but with cartos in general.

There's also the taste of polyfill, which I hate.
