So, I've had this happen twice now. Fully charged triton Batt, with original tank and coil giving me a burnt taste. I've had this kit since last Friday with no issues until yesterday. I cleaned it the first time it gave me that taste and the wicks looked fine to me (not burnt). I switched the tank to the other battery and it was fine so I'm guessing it's not the coil. I'm kinda new to vaping, could I be doing something wrong?

I make sure the connectors are clean and juice free.

how did you clean the head?
the wicks will have burnt juice on them, so since you didn't see any burnt wicks, I wonder if you took the head apart and cleaned it thoroughly?
a fresh battery will pump more power through the coil, and if there's a build up of burnt juice stopping the fresh juice from hitting the coil, you might et a burnt taste.

I break the while thing down, then let it sit in warm/hot water for a few minutes, then I'll swish them around for a bit and dry off. I let them dry for about 24 hours before I fill them again. Now that I've been using it for an hour or more it's not as strong as it was, but it's still there.

Ps- my tank is full, so it can't be a dry wick.

Burnt taste is hard to get out.

I'm vaping lemon-lime right now, after switching from a cocoa flavor that I prob ran a bit too high, and I swear the burnt taste is still there, even though it's a different tank!

I do a dry burn, after cleaning my coils and letting them dry. I can see the burnt gunk turn to ash, so it goes back to cleaning after that (I use PGA the 2nd time around, and it dries faster).

Don't you have a current post on this here? The moderators here frown on the same thread started twice, just a heads up.

Wasn't the question answered? The newly charged battery has a higher voltage. Some juices won't matter, like Torque, IMHO. But some juices are quite voltage sensitive. Use the new battery on something else, then after a while, it'll be drained down a bit to not give that burnt taste on that juice.

Re-read the other thread.

You might want to get the next step up coil heads. Standard is 2.2-2.4 and you might want the next step up for cooler vapes. A Variable Volt battery is in your future.

And get a voltmeter. Six bucks at Harbor Freight.

Halo Triton is a CE4 type head I believe...if not they are "eGo-T" type heads (T for tank)

You need to clean it out, or get serviceable heads where you can replace the coil packs in them

This is why it's good to have backups for your backups of your backups ;)

If they are the eGo-T cone/tank system...use this method to clean em out

Also modify your vape technique, instead of long hard drags like an analog, puff puff puff on it like a pipe or like trying to start a 1/2 lit analog

I didn't know that posting this again under halos stuff would be an issue. I'm new to forums, can I remove it now that I have this one going?
I just took that tank apart, the coil was on there Really good so I'm think it might of been to tight, if not then I'll try a new one.

DaveOno, what early gift are you talking about? The baby's doing real good. Smiles at me like you wouldn't believe :) :D

Sorry, gang, but no.
It's not the tank. It's not the coils.

"I switched the tank to the other battery and it was fine so I'm guessing it's not the coil."

Logic dictates it's the strong battery. Plus, the OP says after a while, it gets better. Like when the batt looses a bit of power. It's not difficult science here.

No, don't use Isopropyl!

You might have to clean your battery terminal; sometimes, condensation gets on it, and may carry some old flavor.

Why not? I have read varying methods and many call for an iso clean. Do you know how hard it is to find 99%? Well I bought a jug last night and was going to clean that nasty HX3 out of one of my mini tanks tonight.

Isopropyl isn't meant to be ingested or vaped. If you do use it, you'd have to make sure that all of it has dried away, especially within the wicks.

Hot water would be a better choice.

I use 151 proof PGA. 190 proof isn't legal in my state. Standard Vodka would do too, which also doubles as ... Vodka :D

Some people have reported success with denture cleaner, and it's pretty cheap.
