What the hell am I doing wrong? I bought a Puff tank filled it up no problems. I bought a replacement cart for it, put it in filled the puff tank, filled the cartomiser, primed it by hitting the button a few times before inhaling, took a drag and burnt out, that horrible burning taste, cart was ruined, so I bought another, did the same thing also burnt out. I give up at the moment, what am I doing wrong?

Just for reference - cart ≠ cartomizer (cart is for cartridge - a spongy thing one uses to feed atomizers).

Terminology nazism over, I am also curious about the presence / absence / size of the hole / slot in your cartomizer.

When preparing to use a carto in a tank, it is better to either slot or punch the cartos yourself as the pre-punched ones are too small. Second, it is almost mandatory to fill the cartomizer as you normally would before putting it in the tank.

I for one use a 1/4" self-tapping saddle valve (from any hardware store) to punch the cartos. It's really easy.

The reason to pre-fill the carto before you use them in the tank is made obvious here.

You can also watch the same video from the start to see about the other method of slotting cartos with a rotary tool.

Did you prime the cartomizer with juice? You have to fill the carto with juice when you first use it. After that it's good to go, just refill the tank after that. Or maybe like Chrissie said, the holes are too small for your juice? By that I mean you might have juice that's too thick. What % PG are you using?

You are filling them wrong. There are several ways to make sure they have enough liquid to not burn. I simply fill in about 10 drops into the top and then blow into it. Then repeat until there's about 1ml of liquid in it and a few drops come out at the other side. That probably means there is more than enough liquid in it. After that I stick it into the tank, fill it and let it sit for 10 minutes. Didn't have any burnt taste with this technique.

If you ARE using prepunched cartos: I usually prime mine with a minimum of 30 drops of juice, let it sit for about 15 minutes, then see if I can add more fluid until it looks a little slushy on top. If any juice gets in the air tube, just blow it out. It took me a while to learn that, I've ruined a few cartos by not priming them enough........... ;)
