i've been vaping since the joye 510 was the proverbial cat's pajamas, and when i first started ecig suppliers would bend over backwards to please their customers. fast forward to the dark ages of deeming and out from underneath a rock emerges blue check. now, there's various ways in which to look at blue check but from my perspective it's emergence was all about someone seizing on a niche that suppliers seem incapable of addressing on their own.

don't get me wrong, i sympathize with suppliers who must now respond to the insipid requirements wrought by the fda. but where we part company is when blue check, and suppliers like oasis vape, begin to take the position that they're doing the vaping community a favor and we should all kiss their behinds. ain't gonna happen on my part, so it's time to dust off my diy abilities and returning to making the old battery box mods and making my own ejuice.

my only problem is that until i've reached the day where i have a sufficient amount of supplies on hand (i just returned to vaping after going back to analogues) i'm going to need to rely on suppliers to stock up on coils and the such. my question is, are there suppliers who have chosen not to use blue check? on a side note, there should be a new thread dedicated to blue check as i'm sure there are plenty of vapers here that have run into a boatload of problems with them. thanks in advance.

The company has been around for a couple of years. Unfortunately, the FDA is requiring proof of age before you can purchase online. So either you mail in a copy of your license to verify proof of age, or you're going to have to start putting up with online verification companies. Personally, I'd rather do it all online rather than sending a copy of my license.

i understand the why's of it all and, while i appreciate your response, it didn't answer my question. i can make all of my purchases locally and that'll take care of the age verification issue altogether. but, if i choose to make purchases online i will not go through blue check. i understand that some companies run their verification through a company named veritad but have yet to locate such vendors except for an ejuice supplier located in texas. so again, my question is: who are the suppliers that have chosen not to use blue check and are using alternative means of verifying age.

I doubt anyone has had sufficient experience in the 4 days where age verification is required to place orders with all the vendors out there to see whether or not they use Blue check. Either you'll have to go through the checkout and cancel if Blue Check pops up and you refuse to fill in the required information. Or you can email customer support at any vendor you are considering a pruchase ffrom and ask how they will verify your age

Cool, imma gonna get to make me my first Selfie. Wait, if someone else makes my phone do it, isn't it just a photo then?

If you use the phone to take a selfie in order to purchase online, the phone becomes a tobacco product too.

You never mentioned your reason for not wanting to use Blue Check. I only ask because I'm curious, what has led you to believe that other unknown age verification software is better than the one everyone seems to have decided to use?

thanks for asking. while attempting to purchase product at oasis vape i came against blue check when reaching time to check out. ok, no problem i says because i'm 60 years of age and so i'm good to go. nope. i get a message that blue check cannot verify me so i'm going to have to take a pic along with my id next to my face. ok, i says. they'll obviously see that i'm way over the 27 year old threshold and they'll then verify my age. nope. i'm then informed that i'll have to standby until such time that proof of age can be established. not ok.

i should also say that blue check requires the last four ssn digits and had i been in my right mind at the time i would have declined running through this system for that reason alone (refer to reddit on this issue). anyways. it wasn't until a day and a half later that i received a message from blue check stating i was obviously over the age and then they provided me with a number to make a purchase. so, i hit them back with a message and asked if this meant i wouldn't have to go through this marigamaroo again and have yet to receive a reply.

there were some other things that turned me off of blue check but these having nothing to do with making supply purchases, namely the ceo of the company being a smug, arrogant snot-bag who acts like he's got the industry, and customers, by the shorts. but, i would suggest members visit reddit and check out the various posts about blue check over there. thanks for your inquiry.

My last purchase was from Halocigs on 8/7/2016 and they just required my DOB at checkout. I received a message that I would not have to verify my age again.

I haven't purchased from anywhere else since because I don't want to give out the last 4 of my SSN or send in my license or take selfies. Seems ridiculous!

Glad I stocked up.

I'd say we now have a need for a Stickied thread on ID verifications??

i noted there was no such sticky on the forum so i would agree with you. it's a shame about oasis vape, who seems to be one of the staunchest advocates of blue check (again, check reddit). i especially liked their prices, the fact that they had 36 mg. ejuice, and their service was great as well. same with discount vapers. but they cut it when choosing to go with blue check. i sent a message to discount vapers (DV) and received a nice reply (seriously) that, in part, stated that blue check was the industry standard (really? only after a couple of days?) and they were the best at what they do. ok, being that i have no grievance with DV i let that slide, but i still won't return to do business with them.

so, i made the mistake of ordering from madvapes and they seem bent upon handling my order in a mysterious fashion. they appear not to like responding to customer tickets, or maybe it's just me. like i stated earlier, i've located vendors that don't use blue check but what i'm going to do in the future is buy my tanks/coils locally and diy the ejuice and mods (the old 3.7 volt and 5 volt battery box mods should do just fine). i'm not a cloud chaser, i'm into this vaping thing to avoid smoking. i don't require a bunch of horse.... in order to take care of my needs, i'll just go in another direction. thanks.

blue check states
Thing is, if it's not Bluecheck it'll be another of that type system. How many times are we going to have to verify ourselves online????

blue check states you only need to be verified one time and then you can purchase product from any vendor using their service. i'm still waiting for a reply in my case but doubt seriously that i'll receive one. because i haven't ordered anything using veritad i'm not sure, but i think i should check that issue out.

You are awesome. Have you truly not taken a selfie before?

Bought my first smart phone two months ago, a Samsung S7 Edge. Love it. Have not yet taken a selfie. Might when I get next to mom next time I see her this month! :thumb:

^^^ Personal favorite vendor that sells 36 mg. Just tried to go through checkout without checking out to see what age verification process they use but couldn't tell, didn't see one without hitting checkout. Let me know because I was told they have one up, note discount at top if you end up ordering.

How refreshing :) There are way too many people taking and posting tons of selfies. I try to keep it to just a few during a one year span.

OK back to the subject. I went through the Bluecheck process almost two weeks ago. According to Mount Baker's policy it's a one time thing. If you're younger you may have to send in a pic of your license & a selfie :) Policies will probably vary.

scroll above and you'll find that i stated as much. suppliers running through blue check for age verification have no control over their policies. my experience sucked and neither blue check nor oasis vapes have made any motions to change my mind concerning either one of them, or any suppliers choosing blue check for age verification purposes. not a big loss for them and neither for me. but, i'd be interested to see how many other vapers have been tormented by the age verification process only to have been turned away or missed out on a sale they wanted to get in on. most transactions will no doubt be just like your's, but not all.
