if your using cotton make sure that its not bleached cotton as clorine in gas form is a poison. i use organic cotton balls that i picked up at walgreens and boil them 3 times 15 mins each in just normal tap water. just drain after each boil and refill. after all the boiling get all the water you can out of them and let them sit overnight.(its the same way RIP Trippers does his) i personally use 30ga wrapped 7 times on a 5/64 drill bit and torch into a micro coil, comes out at about 1.8ohm. check out RIP Trippers vid on youtube and try that out, its what i did and i love the way the protank vapes now.

The only way to know would be to try different builds yourself. But from what I gather, 30 awg is the preferred gauge for clearos. 32 awg twisted works fine too. 28 awg on the other hand would likely give a resistance which would only fire on a mechanical. Although I've managed 1.6ohms using 28 awg on a protank, the vape wasn't terrific. I would stick to 30awg on clearos.

Protank atty has very small chamber to work with. If you are just starting out, I would suggest stick with single wire instead of twisted. Also, silica will last longer than cotton.
If you already bought 30gauge wires, just use them. No need to buy something else. At 30gauge, 6 - 8 wraps on looped 2mm silica. This would be a good starting point. You can +/- wraps as needed.
Initial target resistance should be 1.5 - 1.8. This is generally a good range for most juice.

Cotton will give you more flavor and vapor. However, it will burn faster and have to changed frequently. Changing wicks in Protank atty isn't fun.

They do go out on me in about a week/ week half, depending how much I vape. Usually set at around 8 watts.

Another chime-in for 30AWG in Protanks here.

I run a nano-contact-coil (1.2mm), 30 AWG, 11/10 wraps, 1.8Ω
