after vaping a long time on the kfl+v2,i got a berserker 22m for when I'm outside and i immediately noticed how warm it feels compared the kayfun and i guess it's normal considering the small size factor and the drip tip being closer to the coil.
probably less steel on the new kayfun will help a bit ;like a non metal drip tip and one of the Bell cap/dome.(and if you're ok with it then the extension kit.)

The V5 drip tip is considerably cooler than the stock tip on the 19. I find all-metal tips to be too warm for my likes.

I do have to say this kayfun wicks better then any other kayfun I previously owned. Just last week I wanted to see how much wattage she could handle and got it to 35 watts with no issues. I could never do that as easily on any other kayfun which means it wicks really good....you combine that with a thinner juice, tighter af, and perhaps a very strong draw and your bringing alot of juice to your coil. If your vaping this at low wattages , you will flood your coil and adding more wick is a definite counter balance

I’ve experimented with varying amounts of cotton and varying lengths/widths etc and I have to say never a dry hit yet from the KFL19. It wicks better than any other RTA I’ve got. And with no juice control I find that impressive.

anyone else that uses 50/50 liquids find that they have to wick much heavier with this atty than others?
You might just prefer adding more wicking material all the way thru, but you can also experiment with some extra just in the channels...if you find the extra is fixing the gurgling or flooding, but now is degrading flavor, just add a bit extra in the tails, which is really where its needed for your issues..so use your original wicking amounts, but instead of cutting tails to the bottom of ledge, add another quarter inch (about the depth of ledge) and cut. You now dont want to just stuff all that, but make a bend in the wick tail bottom so the tails go down and then doubles up as it turns back up....you dont really need to bend it, just take your stuffing tool, like a small screwdriver and push it down, but instead of placing the screwdriver at the tail end, move the driver up a quarter inch and then place tails....so as you push tails down the ledge, there will be wick on both sides of the driver. ....I have actually been doing this myself, not because of issues, but it leaves a nice edge down the ledge...I actually have been thinning my tails first to make up for this double fold at the bottom.......or if just adding more thru the whole thing is working fine, then no need to do above....

Had you tried the Kayfun v4???

I’m not sure how much variance there is between our building style or skill level, but I chain vape my Kayfun v4 all day when I carry it.

I have to assume we are very close in skill level...build style is probably very different.

I’m running a 0.5~ ohm build, and crank it up to 30-35 watts on my Provape Radius...

70vg/30pg or 80/20 blend, and neither have wicking issues.

The coil it two wire twisted, 28g Kanthal, 2.8mm diameter...

Still LOVE my v4

And my New Lites have become my little Nic Salt demons!

Love these things!

Single wire, 29g Kanthal, 8/9 wraps, 1.5~ ohms, 10 watts on a Provari P3...boost at 4/5...36mg Nic Salt

BLISS!!!

Also, just installed the new “MTL” pin from SM...I’ve got this New Lite vaping like it’s a POD MOD!!!!

It also vapes exactly the same as the Atmizoo Tripod*.

*Btw @newyork13 ~go get it. It is dabomb!

:DERAILMENT WARNING:

You, my friend, are NOT wrong!

I -LOVE- my Atmizoo Tripod!

I’ve thrown every kind of build at this tank and it’s great!

@theops and Team Atmizone have really made an awesome device with the Tripod!

True DL to true MTL vaping...

Innovative assembly...

Sleek styling...

It’s hard to choose between the nKFL, the Tripod, or Calix v1/2/3/4 from @Billie-cig and Team ByLeo...

All amazing for flavor, vapor, and adaptability from wide to narrow airflow...

Good thing I have them all!!!

—————

P.S. @qorax

I’d love to see your take on the Swiss Vaping Technology (SVT) “Tell” tank...

I know you’re not a Billet Box user, but this tank allows Billet Box atomizers to be used on a 510 mod...it’s so unique it has to be worth your review!

(Could also be used for a Sophia!)

P.P.S. @newyork13

Old friend, Qorax is right...

Go get you a New Kayfun Lite.

You won’t be disappointed!

Hey HBcorpse, how does the Tripod compare against the Prime?

Hey HBcorpse, how does the Tripod compare against the Prime?

The short answer: it doesn’t.

Long answer:
These two tanks are very different.

Neither is “better” or “worse”

They are trying to accomplish very different things.

Prime - small/medium, loose MTL to restricted DL, attempt at creating a new brand standard, limited build options.

- The Prime has a “standard” Kayfun deck, and appears to be focused on bridging the gap between SM’s fan base of tight MTL to wide open DL.
- SM makes great atomizers, and very few could argue that. But aside from their Gorgon RDA, the Kayfun line is just that...the Kayfun line. Like comparing different year Chevy trucks. All have their differences, but are essentially variations on a theme.

=================

Tripod - medium/large, real DL to true MTL or everything in between, introducing something truly new, very wide range of build options.

- The Tripod has a deck that contains features from multiple types of atomizers. There are features from the Atmizoo Creek BF atty including deep wells for saturated wicks, airflow and inserts like the VapeShell BBox atty, and a chimney/chamber reducer unlike anything else in my collection.
- Atmizoo continues to push their own envelope and not stay “stuck in the mud” of their own designs. Each of their atomizers is totally unique from the others, while retaining the same DNA/quality of the Atmizoo family.

Both are great!

My collection would be lesser without either of them.

That said, I do prefer the nKFL over the Prime.

Thanks!
That helps with the decision to get a Tripod.

YouTube reviews help, but I haven't been able to find any comparisons between the two RTAs.

NKFL, imo, is not a "hot" vape. There is no heat. It definitely is slightly (very slightly) warmer ~ but that's expected due to its size. Nonetheless, at 1.2 Ohms each ~ both the Sophia and the NKFL vape exactly the same. It also vapes exactly the same as the Atmizoo Tripod*.

thanks Q. What are you up to these days?

I had the v4 for perhaps a week a traded it for a svoemesto mod I think it was, so I honestly never got to really know the v4. Kind of the same for the v5, but had that a little longer. My main kayfuns were the 3.1, kfl, kfl plus, km3, and prime, so was comparing to those.....I did like the vape on the v4, just didnt like the way it looked tbh and the v5 seemed to airy.....I definitely think running the v4 that high takes some wicking skills for sure....
