Q by metteby: Thank you for the review How will I know when the airflow screw is at 1.8 or too loose? How many turns to unscrew to 1.8?

My answer: 1.8 is fully 'open'. Half more turn and it will come off. Since no screw is needed to unplug to access the AFC stem ~ it is a simple task of just turning it and taking a draw to find your sweetspot. Then leave it at that position for life.
Can you remove the air screw altogether like we have with previous Kayfuns?

Got any photos of those hot chicks?

Could be. I'm following along on this thread to see whether there's a preference for either of the colors. :)
My guess is if there are two it will be 50/50. If there are three it will be 33.33/33.33/33.33. If there are four.... :)

The music itself, yes I can see that. The lyrics, no. So let's give it 1/2. :)

Folks, I'll be making a few more vids on this nKFL*. Viz. (a)Simple-single coil build, (b)10-Tips to make it vape better, (c)SS-Mesh build etc. Any stuff of particular interest you'd like me to add?

*B'coz I freakin' love it
Hello again Q. BTW, where are you these days?

So many reviews are judgements based on initial impressions. Not to take anything away from these reviews, as they can be thorough and insightful. However, what we often experience after using the devices daily adds another dimension. That's to say, that issues don't always arise until one uses the thing all the time.
If you've been vaping on the new Lite regularly, I'd like to hear about any newer issues/problems/concerns you might have come across since your vid.

I buy something off of Amazon and a week later they are asking me for a review. Last two things I bought were bed sheets and walking shoes. I can only assess the fit and comfort aspects. I certainly cannot evaluate the durability. And that is a major factor in most products. So I make sure I qualify everything I say. That said, the reviews are still useful. And even more useful for things like atomizers so we can see the features. But yes, only daily use can give the full picture.

Right.
Which is why I posed the remark to Q, who right now is the only person I know (and respect) who's had day to day experience with the device.
How many times have I seen a review lauding some vape thing, then I'd buy it, then I'd agree with the review, then a few days later the problems (leaking, or whatever) arose.

And btw, I agree and disagree with your comment about Amazon etc reviews. Yup they're often based on initial impressions, so of somewhat limited use. But, they often are posted by folks who've owned the thing for a while and posted back about the issues they had after day to day use. Very helpful.

Yes, you will see an occasional review on Amazon that comes from an experienced consumer but not always and usually not from lightly reviewed items. But I really value the ones that came well after the purchase.

Review the Reviewer:

I always enjoy Mark’s reviews. He was concise with this one and after watching 45-60 minute reviews it’s refreshing to see a quickie review. Thought he was spot-on with all the important stuff with just one, but very major, omission that went right past him. Size. There is a significant segment out here who REALLY like compact gear. The KFL19 gives us exactly that! Interior airflow? Us compact-fans don’t care! Set it once and forget it. Bottom fill? Us compact-fans don’t care because the tradeoff is worth having a smaller atty. and it’s really not much of a hassle. Mark pointed these factors out nicely but didn’t tie it back to the desire to have compact gear and this being a major selling point of the atty...as much a draw as MTL. I can’t speak for everyone obviously, but I know there are many of us who will appreciate the KFL19 for it’s size without sacrificing that Kayfun flavor.

But as always, I enjoy Todd’s Reviews. :)

Brother, I've had the nKFL for a month. And the "my final thoughts" section of the review was recorded on Feb-18th. My video was based on my, at least, 3 weeks of use. Just that I didn't bother to remove the AFC stem*. Which I did yst'day.

*Yes, removed it and kept it overnight ~ it doesn't leak.

Some condensation down the air channel is expected, with any atty. And if you plonk the coil too close to the base and don't wick it properly (based on the viscosity of your e-liquid), especially in TC mode ~ you could get some 'unatomised' juice to enter the air channel. Which could flow out of the side air hole.

In a month of use, nothing such happened with my nKFL.

You Sir are a Wicking Master!!!

But yes, you are right. Poor wicking on any atty and seepage will occur.

Most of us Americans still know only one language. :)

I learned a little Spanish...enough to get by to communicate with some workers but not fluid by any stretch. I'm sure they got a laugh out of me. :) Haven't used it in a long while so I forgot most of it.

I crack up when foreigners move to the States and their kids serve as interpreters for them.

About years ago when my son was in high school a couple of kids moved here from Poland. They spoke flawless English. The only downside was it was Elizabethan English.

I'm curious. Is Svoemesto a person? And if so, is he the brains behind the Kayfun or he just takes the profits?
i'll share some info if find interesting i found on their facebook page:
(1)- In 2011 a Russian modder had an idea.
He had enough of stick batteries and disposables. He wanted more. After hours and days of research and communicating with other vapers in forums, he drove to a nearby hardware store, to pick up the pieces he needed for his very first mod. His nickname at this time was "SvoëMesto". And the rest -as they say- is history.

(2) - The very first actual Kayfun was made in Russia in 2011 by former modder and today one of our shareholders with the nickname "SvoëMesto".
This aluminum light weight was a mechanical hybrid with bottom switch design and was only available to barely a 100 people. It's genes can still be found in the modern Kayfuns.

(3)- The story continues between the years 2011 and 2012, when "SvoëMesto" caught the attention of a German, who happens to be a Russian native speaker as well and just recently had discovered vaping for himself. They got in touch on a Russian forum and started exchanging ideas. The goal was to introduce a completely new kind of vaping technology to the German market. A few months later a one of its kind kit was introduced in German forums via bulk order from Moscow.
The "SvoëMesto V 2.0" full kit included the Kayfun V2 and the Sëmovar V2. The Kayfun V2 could be assembled with several different tanks and a longmode, while the Sëmovar could be used as mechanical or as APV with Nivel chip. In this kit the modular and highly flexible design of SvoëMesto products became apparent for the first time. "SvoëMesto" became the name of the project driven by the Russian modder Sergey and the German gentleman named Eugen.

(4)- After successfully introducing the Kayfun V2 to the German vaping community, the next logical step was clear: Taking the production to Germany and German standards. While it was still unclear, where to manufacture a stainless steel version, suddenly a forum post in ERF (German ECF) appeared. A German engineer had built his own version of the Kayfun made from stainless steel in comparison to chrome plated brass the V2 was made from, because he couldn't get his hands on an original Kayfun. Eugen immediately got in contact with him and shortly after Arkadi joined the team.
In late summer of 2012 the Kayfun V3 ES saw the light of day for the first time and the company SMtec GmbH was founded. Manufactured in Germany, the first batch covered 750 sets and was presented by a small selection of specialty retailers to the public. Due to its flavor profile and vapor production as well as the good reputation of its ancestor, the Kayfun V2, the Kayfun V3 ES quickly became a success.
The demand within the enthusiastic community in Germany eventually lead to a second batch adding another 500 devices to the series. Looking back, the Kayfun V3 ES, with 1250 devices in total, can be considered a rare collectors' piece. The first 1000 devices also had a serial number from 0-999. A new class of premium atomizers "Made in Germany" was born.
Its design should carry on in all following 22mm Kayfuns, such as the Kayfun 3.1 and the Lite series - until December 2014.

(5)- Although the Kayfun V3 ES was a great success, it still left room for improvements. Especially more convenient refilling was a feature, customers kept asking for.
In February 2013 SvoëMesto introduced the Kayfun 3.1 in 3 colors:
alpha: sand and ceramic blasted
beta: sand blasted
gamma: brushed
All three version were coated with a nano layer of ceramic coating, which then was fused into the upper metal layer under high temperatures. The goal was redefining market standards with a grippy, scratch and fingerprint resistant surface.
Later on, 2 further surfaces were offered: delta (mirror polished) and brushed wihtout a nano layer.
Additionaly, the Kayfun 3.1 offered a new 3 segment tank as well as a fill valve, that enabled the user to fill the tank simply by pressing a certain type of bottle against it and squeeze the liquid in. After filling the valve would automatically close again and seal the pressure system.
The Kayfun 3.1 was made until late 2013 and has been the most recent premium model of Kayfuns - at least yet...
(6)-The concept behind the original Kayfun Lite was to make an entry level device, that provides "Made in Germany" quality and the typical Kayfun vape experience at a budget friendly price. It was introduced for the first time in May 2013.
Due to process optimization and more efficient manufacturing techniques the Kayfun Lite was replaced by the Kayfun Lite [plus] in September 2013 and now also offered adjustable airflow as a highly requested feature.
In February 2014 the Kayfun Lite [plus] received a face-lift in its second batch and has been referred to by its fans to the "Lite [plus] V2" since. This face-lift included a new driptip design, a slightly redesigned topcap, that goes especially well with wider driptips, as well as an increased tank capacity and a higher quality two tone engraving at the bottom.
Over the course of 18 months the Lite [plus] became the most popular Kayfun ever made with a worldwide success and a continuously increasing quality at a constant affordable price.

TL;DR
Sergey Novikov - formerly known under the nickname "SvoëMesto" especially in Russian forums and today one of the shareholders of our company.
Eugen Epp, CEO and Co-Founder of SvoëMesto.
Arkadi-German guy..
What started as a modders' project in 2011 became a legitimate company called SMtec on August 30th 2012.

Totally with you Turfie! Paired up with my JAC I will probably have the most compact DNA/18650 setup available. And the best part...it will remain a premium MTL experience.

Yes you will and I'll have the most compact DNA 75C 20700, 21700. 18650 set up. Are you getting tired of winning yet?:)

also i want to address the false rumor that was spread back then about the Russian91%:

"normally we wouldn't interfere with debates going on in the vaping community, but it has come to our attention, that people get into arguments over a rumor that insistently hold itself especially in the American community. As this can be settled by a simple clarification, here is some information you might find helpful:
SvoeMesto was launched not by 2, but 3 gentlemen, one from Russia and two from Germany. And all three of them are still the shareholders of the company. There has been no split up within the founders whatsoever and we all work together with full enthusiasm. :)
We hope that this post can prevent further unnecessary arguments, so we all can concentrate our energy and more important and more positive things."

because of this rumor i bought a russian91%v2 at some point and it was my worst vape related purchase;
-i got rust on the the top cap,
-the 2 pieces center pin is awful and i had to be really creative in order to make it some how to work with the addition of an authentic center pin and some o-rings.
-it floods easily
-the coil don't capture on the deck so i have to wrap the wire around the screw(and later replaced the positive block with an authentic one which resolved this on one side.)
and the worst part is that it costed around 40$
