Authentic Gate MTL RTA by Ambitions Vaper

Mine finally arrived last night.
Built it this a.m. using the mtl clapton that came with the True tank. 1.1 ohm@10w.
I'm using a cheap vanilla almond milkshake juice that always tastes too sweet in a Vapefly Nicolas tank - for some reason I never pick up the almond flavor.
In the Gate I do get the almond, which cuts the sweetness.
So the Gate really has very good flavor.
After I used a 3rd of the tank I tried topping up w/o closing jfc or airflow, just to see what would happen.
No leaks or seeping, just slight gurgling which was gone after 4-5 hits.
I really like this tank & I agree with everything @anavidfan says about it.
I also might pick up another one - maybe 2ml version.
Also found that 3FVape is selling spare glass for this, as well as a complete tank section.
Hope this Gate gets more notice - it certainly deserves it!

I have had mine in rotation for 24 hours.. already played with various builds and I agree, this tank deserves a lot of love. Everything works flawless and the flavour is amazing

I find it better than the berserker v1.5 mini .

Now that you've had the Gate MTL RTAs for a while, how do you like it? Is the flavor still good? Have you had any leaking?

Mine has been with me for about a week. I am sorry to say that I am not all that impressed. There seems to be an issue with gurgling, and I have noticed two things:

1) The bell does not sit tight around the deck, and the seal is metal to metal.
2) When I open it to fill and there is some juice left in the tank, I can see a giant bubble appear as I pull out the top cap. After every fill there is some gurgle. This is with the juice control closed.

As far as flavor and vape quality goes, it is allright but not impressive. Compared to my Dvarw clone the vape is a bit more harsh and there is a bit less vapor production. The best results I've got is with no airflow reducer and the three tiny holes open on the outer airflow control.

For me the Dvarw is the clear winner, and I cannot see why you rather would want this one. Maybe because it has a glass tank, but other than that you'll have to tell me.

To avoid gurgling, I have been first closing the airflow > filling up the liquid from the top fill > turn the tank around upside down > open up the airflow (while it's still upside-down) > open up the bottom deck section (to let any air out) > close it back

I know it sounds like a lot when you read it, but its a really quick process and the vape quality is great if you get past the gurgling..

It sucks a bit cause one of the reasons I got the gate was to be able to top fill without leaks or gurgles..

But barring the above, it's been working really well for me and the machining is amazing. I am on the 1.5mm airflow insert with 2 holes of airflow open on the airflow ring.

My build is kanthal A1 28ga
10 wraps
2.5mm diameter ..

comes to around 1.5 ohm..

I too have the dvarw clone from FT.. and I love them both equally, they give a very different draw to the same liquid flavour

I tested gate with few setups and clean it twice but still taste plastic/insulator in vape. Its similar to few other newer tanks Ive tried and cant hellp thinking its because they use low quality material for insulators around positive posts. Somebody had this experiance too?

I washed both of mine before using them and didnt experience any plastic or machine oil taste. I have read in another vape forum where one user experienced a plastic or machine oil taste.

Have one have not built it yet but first impression was, "it seems a little rickety." Hopefully that may because I haven't built it yet. Maybe.

I dont know if its "rickety" in its construction, seems solid but a bit fiddly. I had high hopes that it might be something I would just settle on and use without thinking about it. Its not. The draw isnt right for me, its not sharp enough, or something, I dunno Ive tried different coils and coil heights, different wick and wicking methods. I may have found its sweet spot and not recognized it because it wasnt quite right for me. It is a good mtl rta though, if you like what it does.
Good flavour rta. Wrong draw for me.

Ive washed it few times now and going to leave it in white alc. vinegear for couple hours and rinse with toothbrush again. Can you point me where did you read that someone had same experiance? Thanks!!

I drilled the 0.8 to 1.2 and its spot on for me, easy to build, wicks nice, silent, no leaking, glass for the citrus mixes... all great except the main thing and thats that weird background taste.

Machine oil tastes like death. Soak it overnight in a Rather Strong Dawn solution would be my advice. I gottta do that with my Sirens. Especially the gunmetal IDK why. But the gun metal Sirens taste like foot cheese the MOST of them all. Why? I am clueless but Dawn is... Dawn.

Sorry, I dont know where I read that. POV, UV, or any one of the vape forums that comes up in google search function while looking for reviews. Couldve been a South African forum or an Australian forum, I cast a wide net when researching a product

Well after soaking it in vinegear/lemon/soda mix and scrubing finaly the taste is gone and I can play with the tank.

Well just to inform you be carefull with 510 pin, I was changing the af jet and when puting it back it snaped in half right where the threads starts. There was no excesive force prior doing this so now Iam in process of trying to get replacement.

What are you looking for? Something you build yourself (install coils and wick yourself) or something with pre-made "drop-in" coils? Do you like MTL or DTL? If you don't know what I'm talking about, do some homework and I'll get back to you.

Thanks I wrote several emails so will see. Its similar problem kayfun mini v3 had with his pin that could snap if tank fals or when tighten it.

*update* well luckly I manage to combine feeding screw from 3pm tank and broken threads of 510 gate rta pin to make it work again. The inner threads on 510 gate pin luckly are threaded a bit more into stronger part of the pin so I could screw 3mp on that and now the hold on complete 510 pin is pretty strong, the 3pm pin looks like 1.3mm inner hole so the draw is good too. I might say this is even better because it feels more solid then before.

*update 2* I got answer from ambition mods and they are sending new 510 pin. Great Very nice of them.
