What? I don't understand your point. Read my first post, then the second, then the third. I am not being sarcastic, you said that the response I made about underlining button top was at the end of a very long post. It was actually the third post in response to the second post.

The sarcasm meter is not suitable for generating sarcasm, only for detecting it. Sarcasm involves saying the opposite of what you really think. My post was intended as sarcasm. Obviously, your first post is quite short--the opposite of long. "Button top" is impossible to miss for anyone actually reading it. So, I was agreeing with your point. Nevertheless, you seem determined to argue with me.

It's OK. Perhaps I should have added . I wonder how may people actually slaughtered and ate impoverished children in response to "A Modest Proposal"? It was published long before emoticons.

As you can see in those pictures the button top & white insulator disk has been added.
A piece of clear shrink tubing is used to secure the insulator disk to the top of the cell, or, the entire cell is re wrapped for a seamless look.

LG Chem does not manufacture button top cells.
Just me, authentic means as they come from the factory/original place of manufacture.
Fake?, who knows, if the cell has been fully re wrapped there is no way to be certain what cell is underneath it.
If a piece of clear has been used, I guess you can be reasonably sure...

Just me, only me, I would stick with AW or Orbtronics for button top 18650's.

You can never be sure. Take the so-called Cultural Revolution, for example. Mao declared, "Shut down all the schools, hunt down old people and torture them, imprison or kill all the bourgeoise and seize their property, wreck the economy," etc. Surely he was just kidding, right? Or let's take "death to America," chanted over and over by tens of thousands in the streets of Iran and elsewhere. Surely that's not to taken literally. I mean, they don't actually want us to die, right?

I got tired of waiting for those to come back in stock, so I ordered a bunch of these from here: Flat Top Battery Adapter. I had to hammer the little brass pins down quite a bit before mounting, as they stick out pretty far, but once done they work great. Just set them on top of your battery and shrink 'em on with some clear shrink wrap. I haven't seen HG2 button tops anywhere else.

I use these on my Provi as well only I don't bother with the clear shrink. I just set it on top of the battery and slide it in. I didn't adjust the pin at all

LG chem aren't producing button tops, "some" suppliers are soldering them on, but as you can see for whatever reason they've chosen to stop restocking, my guess they don't sell enough.
The owner of orbitronics does not sell fakes, so I've never needed to buy from IMR ..........
