The Augvape Templar 24mm rda is an interesting evolution of a low profile, compact 24mm flavor chaser rda - the velocity clamp post design makes coil install fairly easy for newer users and it delivers a great flavor punch in a nice low profile design package
Initial Impression:
Packaging is clean, compact - good presentation of atty
Comes standard with two cap options - stainless steel and frosted acrylic bullet
Includes a single coil adapter/ spacer… 510 drip tip adapter (ss cap has 810 compatible tip)
Includes squonk pin
Form:
Gold plated deck for better conductivity with a very fresh re-interpretation of the velocity post configuration - a 'velocity clamp' style system
ss cap with domed interior for reduced size, better flavor and a bullet style frosted acrylic top cap with redirected airflow (downward angled for direct coil targeting)
4mm drip well
Function/ Features/ Performance:
Easy to build on - will accommodate decent sized coils given 24mm form factor
Good juice well/ reservoir
Excellent flavor, especially with bullet cap
Thoughts:
Machining quality very good, smooth action on the velocity clamps with, good fit on both cap options
Installed a pair of dual core fused claptons (ss 2x 28g core, 40g wrap - 3.5mm ID, 7 wraps)
Excellent flavor from the vape, airflow in the bullet cap especially supports great flavor and production - kept the power levels a little lower with the bullet cap to reduce potential heat issues with the frosted cap
Nice low profile design works to enhance flavor production, coupled with somewhat restrictive airflow (keep in mind, for me 'somewhat restrictive' is equivalent to 'less airflow than wide open')
Really liked the new take on the velocity style deck config - no issues with coil install or maintaining connectivity (or resistance fluctuation)
Would have liked to see taller squonk pin design, but that is personal preference as I like to have a bit of a reservoir in deck when squonking and a flush pin design occludes that
For the price point ($30 range, most places), a great little flavor RDA - good build quality, compact design, excellent performance
