If it burns ceramic even a little bit then it will burn an insulator. IMO. :)

It's been working just fine for me... I don't think the maker would say you could set it up that way if it would damage the device...

EDIT:

The atomizer will function even without a non-resistance wire, however it will provide its maximum effectiveness when using the combination of resistance wire with/without.

Wrapping NR / R wire is the bane of my vaping existence.... :p I'm sooo happy to have a Kayfun-style conversion kit coming for the Terminator C to not have to fool with it at all anymore... ;)

I felt that way until I watched the wrap technique used in a Diver video... much easier now.

That's cool.... :) Myself, I see absolutely no difference in performance between the included NR / R wire pre-built, and the ones I make without NR wire. The principal of KISS applies for me in this case. When I smoked, the most difficult part was taking a smoke out of the pack, and lighting it. ;) I've been at this vaping game close to 3 years now, and tried all kinds of crazy caca... At this stage in the game, I just want to enjoy the vaping... Not so much a time-consuming hobby...

BTW: I would NOT attempt to build straight R wire coils of ultra-low or sub-ohm resistance in the Diver.. One would need the NR wire in that case, I'm sure...

I've had my Diver for 2 weeks and love it! I have it in a Phiniac tank with the Hippo on my Provari mini and it works as well as any genny I have.

I tried to like my gennies, but they were not transportable for me. As such, I have migrated over to all silica base designed devices.

When it comes to the Diver and I think of all the cartotanks, which I had in my daily rotation, switching over to the Diver only made sense. What I save in buying new cartomizers, I gladly spend on Divers. Needless to say, the difference in performance is night and day between a Diver and traditional cartomizer.

I love my divers, so far have been using only resistance wire. My last coil ended up getting a hot leg which caused the seal around the centre pin to melt slightly. It tasted funny... I really don't wanna have to mess with n-r/r joining, but if it will stop me from inhaling melting plastic fumes, I should probably look into it.

If you watch the video on YouTube diver setup coils joining the wire takes 2-3 minutes using their method. Makes a tiny joint.

Out of curiosity, what ohm coils do you run, and at what voltage / watts? I would like to imagine the Diver's pin insulator is as durable as the Vivi Nova, or Kanger T3. I've rebuilt plenty of those, and have yet to melt or damage one.

As I posted earlier, my Diver's insulator looks fine. (running 1.8-2.0 ohm coils) If there are potential issues involved, I need to re-think purchasing more, since my decision to purchase the first one was based upon the maker stating straight R wire builds could be done. Affecting performance is one thing.. Burning insulators is a different ball game.

Before anyone jumps in to say how easy it is, I build NR / R wires for my Terminators quite well. I just do not like to, or enjoy it. (Hence, the reason I purchased a Kayfun upgrade kit for one, which will eliminate needing to at all ;) )

Which tank are you using it in? Also make sure the ceramic is seated straight and tight in the base...

Thanks Technonut for the suggestion. For some reason i had in my head that the juice gets past the coil and down into the deep.
It is the Titanide tank.
It is a very fine and delicate tank which i like very much because of that.
I will try to pay closer attention of how the cup sits in it's mount.
So far i had no leaking since yesterday morning so i must be doing something right.

After i rebuilt the coil once again just as is supposed to be without any fancy wrapping around, with some XS116 wick/30 gauge A1 kanthal/.999 silver, and paid special attention to sit the cup properly, i must say i am completely satisfied. No leaks, no dry hits, plenty of vapor and good flavor.
Now i wish i had bought at least one more atty 2 days ago when they were available.
Thank you Technonut for pointing me in the right direction.
