► Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W; First considerations:
Aspire had previously introduced to the market the dual battery 18650 version of Rhea Mod 200W, a powerful device, elegantly built with strong materials to withstand shocks. The same valuable materials were then used by Aspire to make Rhea X Mod. This time the new Rhea X Mod houses a single 18650 battery for a maximum power optimistically estimated by Aspire in 100W.
Aspire has decided to combine this new Mod with a brand new tank with the threatening name "Huracan". Huracan Tank currently works with four different BP coils, two of these Coils are supplied in the kit and one of these is the 0.15Ω Mesh Coil BP (pre-installed) to push from 60 to 80W in DL. I confess that I immediately wondered why Aspire decided to propose a new 18650 Mod by combining it with a Tank suitable for high wattage sub-ohm use that would certainly be better managed by a Mod with at least one more durable 21700 cell.
Luckily in the kit there is a 0.3Ω RDL Mesh Coil BP to push from 30 to 40W and surely this BP Coil is more suitable for a Mod with single 18650 cell. During the tests I usually leave the house with the device I have to examine , so I immediately thought that when I test the 0.15Ω Mesh Coil BP I will install Huracan Tank on my Rhea Mod 200W because it will guarantee me a greater autonomy of charge thanks to its two 18650 batteries.

So my tests of the Huracan Tank and Rhea X Mod exclusively started with the use of the 0.3Ω BP Mesh coil in the range of 30 to 40W. To get to know Rhea X Mod better, I also often used the other Aspire tank and I'm talking about the legendary Nautilus 3 from 23mm which if pushed to 18W is perfect for a long battery 18650 life.

► Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W; Feeling:
As I previously mentioned the construction materials of Rhea X were chosen by Aspire to make the Mod resistant to shocks, we find in fact the same materials used previously on Rhea Mod 200W, therefore mainly zinc alloy and rubber. Rhea X 18650 is rather slender upwards and is almost the same size as other Mods with 21700 not "shockproof". However Rhea X is comfortably thanks to its small diameter oval form factor. I find that the combination of the soft decoration of the handle + the clean design of the metal frame + the protective rubber parts, gives life to a well executed and pleasant to the touch Mix. The weight of the Mod is well distributed, and without battery and tank the weight is only 113g and considering the robust type of construction of the Mod this is appreciable figure.

► Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W; Front and back:
On the front there is the only plastic part of Rhea X, it is a panel that at the top and bottom is well connected with the rubber bumpers, it contains; the Fire button, the screen, the "+ and -" adjustment buttons and finally the Mode button marked with an "M". The colored display is generously sized and clearly indicates all the information useful to the vaper; battery icon with residual charge percentage, regulation lock / unlock symbol, mode used, power, Volt, Amper, resistance impedance and puff counter. I also find the Mode Button "M" very useful, which has the task of making navigation within the menu more intuitive.
The decorative material on the back that Aspire defines as "alcantara", however it reminds me a lot of a type of sponge grips for motorcycles that I used as a young man, I'm surprised, but I appreciated finding this material on this Mod, it seems to be sufficiently long-lasting, we will see with time and with the intense use of the Mod.

► Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W; Side parts:
From this point of view we can see how Rhea X largely uses zinc alloy (the painted part of Blue), this metal surface is quite smooth and looks well painted, it shows on one side the writing Rhea X and on the other side the word Aspire. The rubber "bumpers" at the top and bottom are well connected and slightly protruding on the entire perimeter of the Mod. This increases the grip of the Mod with the hand and safety against accidental falls to the ground of the device.

► Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W; View from above and from below:
The steel cup is screwed to the Mod with 3 French screws, the thread thread is sliding and the 510 pin is gold-plated floating type. Around the cup there is the rubber "bumper" which is slightly raised at the sides and can hold large diameter tanks, certainly up to 28mm.
The base of the Mod is wide enough to make it stable, moreover the rubber of which the base is made makes the Mod silent in support. On the bottom there is the charging socket and the steel cap of the battery compartment. The cap has two vent holes for safety and a central crosspiece for screwing and unscrewing.

The thread of the cap and the one on the mod are very smooth, once you open the cap you can insert the 18650 cell following the instructions inside the compartment / battery.

► Aspire Huracan Sub-Ohm Tank;
This new Tank by Aspire has a maximum e-liquid capacity of 6ml and is classified as Top Airflow, this category of Tank certainly has as its greatest advantage the fact that possible e-liquid leaks are absent, so it is particularly suitable for those who is he a novice or simply does not want to encounter any kind of inconvenience. In the photo of the colors of the Kit distributed by Aspire, I noticed that Huracan Sub-ohm Tank is offered with the only black color, however Huracan is available and can be purchased separately in other colors: Aspire Huracan Tank - Aspire® Official Site

Huracan Sub-Ohm Tank is built in such a way that it can be completely disassembled to facilitate deep cleaning operations.

The Top-cap of Huracan is unscrewed / screwed with a 1/4 turn rotation and uses a good quick "bayonet" system, there is also a large gasket that prevents e-liquid from leaking when the Top-Cap is tightened . The two refill slots are large enough to conveniently fill with any bottle.
In the second side-by-side image, after unscrewing the 510 base, you can see the method of inserting the coil which is by pressure. The arrows indicate the internal slots for the passage of air towards the coil. These passages also and during the suction direct the air in a compressed and well calibrated way towards the drip-tip, facilitating the final adjustment of the flow with the AFC ring.

In the image below you can see the profile of the main structural element of Huracan tank, at the top there are the air passage slots that will be adjusted by the AFC ring (not present in the photo) equipped with rotation stops. The air slots are two and are opposite each other, they have a size of 18x3mm each and can guarantee sufficient air even at high powers and with the use of the gritty 0.15Ω Mesh Coil BP. In this image you can also see the two large black o'ring that act as a hermetic seal for the glass tank, the writing and the logo of "Huracan" and finally the large windows for the passage of the liquid towards the Coil.

► Aspire BP Coil Platform;
The table below indicates the four different BP coils and their usage scheme. Note that these are the recommended BP coils for the Huracan Sub-Ohm Tank. My vape test took place with a red fruit liquid that I know very well and that made me appreciate this Tank by Aspire a lot.
I appreciated the performance of the Huracan Tank in particular with the 0.3Ω coil, especially for the good general balance and for a low e-liquid consumption. With both Coils, Huracan Tank is silent in suction, does not lose a drop of liquid and if you place it in the right power range established for each resistance it works very well and does not produce any spitback.
• 0.3Ω Aspire BP Mesh Coil (30-40W):
Starting with 35W of power and with the virgin Coil it is fast in activation, with a clear and uncontaminated flavor right away. The vapor is nice and fresh and greasy and it is possible to produce discrete clouds. Adjusting to 40 and 45W increases the concentration of flavor a lot without making the steam too hot, I would say that 40W of power with this coil are ideal for me.
I like to set the AFC ring to 50% opening but I must say that even at 100% AFC ring opening the Puff remains consistent and without excessive dispersion. In addition, this 40W coil allows a good life of the 18650 battery.
• Aspire BP 0.15Ω Mesh Coil (60-80W):
I used this resistance especially with the Rheah 200 Mod but I also tested it with Rhea X which pushes well at high powers but cannot compete by duration with Rhea 200 which having two cells has a greater reserve of energy. Starting from 60W, this coil is also ready to use and free of strange flavors, it is quick to activate and does not emit too hot steam. Switching to 70 and 80W the perception of heat increases without becoming excessive, I found my weak point at 70W, with this power the flavor reaches its peak, fluffiness and heat are well balanced with the AFC ring opening at 100% .

► Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W; Final conclusions:
In the course of this review I hope to have well described this robust and captivating Kit. To sum it all up, I would say that I really liked the Aspire Rhea X Kit 100W and even if I had some initial doubts about pairing Sub-Ohm Tank with Mod 18650, the doubts they disappeared, I realized that for those who intend starting at producing RDL clouds, this Tank / Mod combination with the 0.3Ω coil is very effective. This BP-Coil is able to work wonderfully at 35W and doesn't drain too much battery.
For the rest I had no doubts, Aspire is always one step ahead, it has created a very nice entry-level 18650 Mod, with a very good proprietary circuit, full of functions and intuitive to use. Rhea X is impact resistant, not too big and quite handy. I like to think that this is a kit that is also suitable for those who want to install an MTL Tank like the Nautilus, while also enjoying the Huracan Sub-Ohm Tank with its remarkable RDL / DL performance.
Thanks to Aspire for sending me this sample for review.
