Aspire BVC coils leaking like CRAZY!

So I thought I hit the jackpot when I found out they started making the BVC coils for my other Aspire tanks besides just the Nautilus Mini. I couldn't believe the difference when I first used them in my Vivi Nova... Wow! Amazing. Shortly after though, they started leaking. I thought it might just be my tank so I tried them in several different tanks and the same result for all of them. I recently upgraded from an MVP 2 to an Eleaf iStick 20W which I LOOOVE and at first I wasn't having any problems with the leaking, but the next day it started again. I have went through several of these coils so I know it wasn't just a 'bad coil' or even a 'bad batch'. I buy them on credible sites that have the scratch and check for authenticity so I know that isn't the issue either. Is anyone else having this problem? I've seen other forums about this but most of them are mainly about the Nautilus, not the other Aspire tanks.

i had a nautilus 5ml, dropped a few times, when i put the juice in, it started to leak... i try to find out why so now i try to screw the pyrex in snug, but not too tight, i noticed the top piece kind of unscrewed itself, and lo and behold, that cause my tank to leak... so, to check if it was my coil i had a metal sleeve tank and used that instead.... no leaks... my pyrex tank with the top piece was the problem

Have been using a Nautilus and Nautilus mini for 3 months or so now. With authentic Aspire branded bvc coils I've had not one single leak after probably 30 coil changes. Make sure your replacement coils are Aspire authentic and not generics. The generic coil replacements for various toppers have habitually caused problems.

If your coils are indeed authentic I don't have a clue. Mine perform flawlessly.

Thanks for the replies... I just now saw them. I have the Nautilus and Nautilus Mini also and absolutely love the BVC coils for them! I was actually talking about the other Aspire BVC coils for the Vivi Novas and such. I know they are authentic because I always buy them from either 101vape or Giant Vapes and always check the scratch code on Aspires website just to be safe. I used to vape 60/40 juice (60pg/40vg) so I went up on the VG a little bit and it seems to have helped somewhat but still have some leaking issues. I really don't use my Vivi Nova much anyway... I was still using it once in awhile but the leaking was really bothering me so I've pretty much stopped using it all together. One more question Stinkytofus... You said you bought a hollowed out sleeve for your Nautilus. I actually just made a thread about this topic. I recently bought a hollowed out sleeve for my Nautilus Mini and received it today. I just went to swap out my original tank for the new one since it was time for a juice refill anyway, and for the life of me I cannot fit the bottom into the sleeve! (I checked its authenticity as well and it checked out) I tried giving it a little force because it's the rubber seal that seems to be having the trouble fitting in there, but I didn't want to put too much pressure on it and mess up the inside piece where the coil screws in. Did you have this problem? I googled this before making a thread and couldn't find anyone else that had this problem so I was just curious to see of your seal had a hard time going in? Or if not, do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks again!

I never had leaks on my Nautilus using BVCs either, but never tried a Vivi Nova.

I just thought I'd post because of your last question about the replacement hollowed sleeve.

I've upgraded all my tanks and devices to the Atlantis and the Kanger Subtanks now all are at 0.5ohm. But the Atlantis has a pathetic fill capacity, so I purchased the 7ml tank extensions which aren't even made by Aspire, they're from Wotofo/A-Mod ... They actually fit really well. A couple of them seemed to dig into the rubber grommet, or seal, whatever, on the base of the tank while trying to get the coil screwed in all the way, because they function just like a Nautilus in the way the base and tank are held together by the coil. I just thought I'd mention I went ahead and screwed them in tight, and thus far, about 2 months, it hasn't caused any damage to the shaft the coil screwed into, the coils, or the rubber seal on the base of the tank. So I'd say you're probably safe to try this, but I say probably simply because honestly my nautilus felt like it had a better construction than the Atlantis does.

Just because they are authentic does not mean they are good. Aspire is known to sell bad coils. I had 2 authentic boxes where every coil tasted like rubber. It was a strong rubber taste that no juice or cleaning could hide. The rubber smell was so strong it had to be noticed in the factory. To me, that says a lot about Aspires lack of quality control. A guy here on ECF had the same rubber tasting problem with Aspire BVC coils that came with the new clearos he had purchased. Last week I had 2 new coils that had vertical splits in the o-rings that made them useless. These are the general BVC coils not the Nautilus.

Look closely at the o-rings to see if they are cut or twisted. Contact the vendors to see if they will replace the bad coils. If not, contact Aspire.

Good luck!

A little more details may help troubleshoot this...

Where is it leaking? out the bottom, top, around the tank, up the chimney..?

Most common place for leaks would be the bottom where the coil unit screws into the base. Check that for any cracks, burrs or something gunked up in there preventing the rubber seal from fully seating. Clean the base real good and inspect with with a magnifying glass to ensure you have a solid flat surface for it to seal.

If it's somewhere else... clean and inspect as above.

Another question... what juice are you running? PG/VG ratio? If it's high PG the juice may be too thin... Some juice is flavored with PGA and I've heard of some that contains water. Too thin of juice can cause leaks but it's not very common.

I have vivi nova's as well, the problem arises at the point where the chimney meets the coil body. The coil body has a silicone seal that the chimney seals against, or fits into. Its at that point, when the juice level drops to the top of the coil body that it fails and sucks the juice up into the chimney, causing flooding/leaking. I believe the draw required overcomes the seal (a flat thin silicone disc). I think PBusardo mentions it in a review as well. All my vivi's do this at that point, so keep em full! I have zero problems with them till the fluid gets to the connection, don't know why it doesn't happen above it, but there you go.

Edit: I have noticed that a few of the seals are misformed when there made, not centered, stretched, that kind of thing.
