I'm new here just switched from V2 and purchase a halo triton 650 battery , usb charger a tank and some LR carts.
everything arrived on Wed 21st.

I put the charger on the battery and right away as i start to screw it on, the usb charger splits in two pieces the top and bottom came apart and the fitting twists. I had the same charger from V2 and never had a problem using that.

Now I if I hold the charger real tight I can srew the battery in without it coming apart. But, as it sits in the USB port of my laptop the weight of the battery makes the charger split and the battery sags down. you can then see inside the charger.

I contacted Halo on Wed and still waiting for a reply.
I dont want to speak badly about the company Im sure this was just a random bad charger. Just like to hear back from the company within a reasonable time about returning this charger.

I had the same problem with my first charger.

As long as it still works, you can separate the two plastic shells, and use superglue to glue them back together.

I used a cheap gel-type superglue, from a dollar store. It remains as strong as I'd expect. Nice to be in the RC hobby ;)

The 2nd charger I got was perfect. Now if I could just remember where I put it... :p

Halo will require that you send the defective unit back before they send out a replacement. That means a trip to the post office.

Not necessarily. I have returned items through the USPS by affixing stamps to them, placing the item in my mailbox and raising the red flag on the side of the box. The letter carrier picks them up.

That's a great point. If you have a good idea what the postage will be you ought to be able to just slap enough stamps on the package and place it in the mailbox. Thanks.

Use a cheap media bubble envelope from Target and use this guide. A USB charger should be around $2.53 in stamps.

How can you be in the RC hobby and not mention the product that makes superglue work- the accelerator? :)
For those who do not know, superglue accelerator is a liquid that, when applied to uncured glue makes it freeze instantly. In a split second and with a wisp of nasty chemical fume, it bonds RIGHT NOW. -Makes any of these glues work the way they were intended to!
I acted pro-actively with my Halo USB charger and shored it up first {with glue and accelerator} and now it seems bomb-proof. This wonder-liquid is available at any hobby store that sells radio control stuff. :toast:
