Using 28 gauge wire wrapped 7 times in to two micro coils with a resistance that measures 0.9
ohm on the meter. This is what I used when it worked now I can't even get a reading on my meter. A person at the local Vape shop thinks it my be due to the brass screw at the bottom ( firing pin I think, sorry little sleepy just woke up ) being faulty. So I was thinking oh doing an over haul on it or replacing the whole unit.

Well, it's either the battery not making connection within the tube ... The battery has to be tight on both ends against the tube's top cap and it's bottom cap ... Do you get any battery rattle when you shake the tube from front to rear?

Or it's no connection between the atomizer's 510 pin and the top cap on the mod.

The first thing that has to be right is the atomizer's 510 pin. It needs to protrude slightly from the threaded area of the 510 connection ... If it don't, it will short out when you press the fire button ... see the photo below

The second thing to check is the connection between the atomizer's 510 connection and the pin in the top cap of the battery tube. When the atomizer is screwed onto the battery's top cap, it needs to make connection. The best way to insure connection is to adjust that pin in the top cap so when the atomizer is screwed on it tightly, there is just a very slight gap between the bottom of the atomizer and the top flat surface of the tubes top cap ... If you do this, you can be assured that there is now a good connection between the two.

And lastly, when everything is put together, insert the battery and tighten down the tube's bottom cap .... the bottom cap should now hold the battery tight up against the tubes top cap when the bottom cap is tightened down .... if not, you will need to adjust the pin in the tube's bottom cap so that it holds the battery tight up against the tubes top cap when tightened.

BTW ... Here you can see that there is also a slight gap between the tube and the tubes bottom cap once the battery has been installed and the bottom cap tightened down ... having this slight gap insures that the battery is tight between both end caps .... no chance of it not making contact:

you don't need to replace the entire unit, fatdaddys sells the rebuild kit. as others have already asked, have you really cleaned it well? have you built a new coil for it? the old coils can be at fault or the center post and contacts can be corroded which may need a good clean.

Used on my evic and the first time I used it the evic read atomizer short. So I rebuilt it and then it read no atomizer found ( or maybe it was detected, I can't remember exactly ) but my point is it did not detect the atomizer.

Why didn't you check it on the evic the first time?
Then you rebuild it, and it either reads no atomizer or maybe something else; it makes a difference what the evic says.

I guess it's just easier to call out 'what's wrong' than to just check it.

Seems to me you're just itching to buy another topper.

If you had a multimeter, I'd say check if any voltage is reaching the coil.

Not to familiar with evics, but I believe the older ones won't fire at that low of a resistance, whether it reads it, not sure. Also I wouldn't use an 18350 for your set up, better to use a higher amp limit battery.
