Anything that lasts longer than a cartomiser?

I've been using Dual coil mega cartomisers on my Ego, I generally have 2 that I rotate all week and replace one every week, but I am finding after the first fill they steadily become harder to vape, the first fill is the best but even on 2nd/3rd fill you do notice the difference in throat hit and vape produced, the only good thing about DC Mega cartomisers is they don't need constant filling which is what ...... me of with atomisers and tanks. Is there anything else out there?

The main thing (it seems to me) is to keep the coil/filler damp. From that standpoint when using a cartomizer, instead of thinking in terms of the number of fills, just keep it topped off & it'll never *need* refilling. Rotating a couple of high-quality cartos like that, I think they should last you several weeks before needing replacement. Of course this will vary depending on the juice you're using and some other factors as well. If you're using thick, dark juice it will gunk up the carto and shorten its life considerably.

There are other options... tanks, clearomizers, flexomizers, etc... all of which I know nothing about other than what I've read on here. Personally, for the time being I've settled on direct dripping on an atomizer. Of course, it's not as convenient as filling a carto or tank and forgetting it for a few hours, but the good attys I've had have lasted over 3 months with a little cleaning and are still working pretty well. I can drip in 3 drops and vape longer than I could smoke a 100mm cigarette, and dripping 3 drops is no more trouble than lighting a cigarette so I'm not complaining. Oh, and dripping is far & away the best way I've found to actually know how my vape is supposed to taste.

Hope this helps... Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Oh, one other thing re. cartomizers: you might want to try the Smoktech XL Single Coil 1.7 Ohm cartos. I've been using them and the (regular sized) Boge 2.0 Ohm almost exclusively for out & about use on my E-Power 14650 (regulated 3.7 volts) and if you keep them topped off both are outstanding at that voltage. The Smoktech hold nearly twice as much juice as the Boge and give a somewhat warmer, fuller vape for me. Neither is a match for a good 1.8 Ohm atty, flavor/vapor-wise, but not a bad trade off for convenience if you need it.

Try cartomizers in tanks. They should last a lot longer and the tank holds a lot of juice.

Dang, what type of juice are you using in it? I run ego mega dual coils for about 3 weeks before tossing them. I tried cleaning one but that was a fail so I don't do that anymore. I use medium to light colored juices in ranges from 50/50 to 80pg/20vg. Usually the only reason I toss one is because I ran out of that flavor. I've only had one that got a tight draw.

Tell you what you can try. Take a fat sewing needle. Very slowly and gently, insert the eye into the bottom airway until you meet resistance. Don't go past that resistance because you're up against a coil. Then do it from the other side (mouth end). Give it another vape and see if that helps any.

The only other thing you could try is a cartomizer tank. Get one with whatever type of cartos you prefer and either a dremel of sadle valve to make holes/slots in the cartos. They work great. I can run a Boge or a dual coil XL forever in a tank.

    +1
Even at 10 Pounds for a tank it will pay for itself with what you save on cartos.

Now understand when we say tank we mean one of these, not an eGo-T type tank.

I've been using clear cartomizers for a few weeks now with good success. I'd been vaping my poly-fill refillable cartomizers until they burned ... yuk. I know most folks can tell when to stop and refill, but I guess I don't have that talent. With the clear ones, I can see how much liquid is in them and top them off when they get low.

Put the carto in a tank, and you don't have to. The tank refills the carto every time you take a hit.

Carto's in tanks are the best thing since sliced bread:) If you're using a thick juice use 2 holes in the carto and make the holes a little bigger:) I use Boge 2.0's with 70/30 pg/vg juice and 2 holes......carto's get tossed every 1-2 weeks and no more dry hits or burning carto's.......refill tank every day:)
