Anyone using 'natural' sweeteners, Truvia, for DIY? And can I use the crystals?

Ok, so I dont' use artificial sweeteners, so the EM's and Sucralose drops are out for me. I typically use Truvia for sweetener in foods and drinks, but just getting into diy, and wondered if anyone is using it for sweetening? And if so, do I need to buy the drops (and if so, any suggestions where to buy em cheap) or can I somehow 'melt' the crystals into a liquid that i can dispense for diy? And anyone offhand know how 'strong' they are in relation to other drops? I'm using them to sweeten capellas's drops, which have no sweetener, but have NO idea where to start, with a single drop or 10. Any suggestion would be super appreciated, thanks!

+1, this would be very helpful. Anyone have any experience with Stevia or Erythritol as well? I've been scouring ECF for the past 2 hours on various mixing information but can't seem to find decisive info on which natural sweetener is the best. Some people love Sucralose, others hate it, and it's the same with Stevia; so confusing

I'm not sure about Truvia but the Sucralose powder (Splenda) is mostly binders and only about 5% actual Sucralose.

Are you referring to just Splenda, or most Sucralose mixes? From what I've read, EZ-Sweetz has a very sweet sucralose mix but their website seems to be down atm. I would prefer to go all natural but if nothing works out, Sucralose is the only option left. I wonder what would happen if I put refined or brown sugar into my mixes, probably a dead atty, but who knows

I was referring to the powder form of sucralose. Lots of folk use EZ-Sweetz and love it, I don't have personal experience with it but I hear it comes in two different strengths and the cap color determines which is which. I would stick to the liquid forms to avoid the fillers that are used, at least with sucralose. Using regular sugars is a quick atty/carto clogger, it gunks up on the coil and then burns off a bad taste. Truvia powder may be fine idk I have never used it.

Well I guess it's trial and error time

Just ran across a thread that might be useful to you folks; the first post favors a pure version of Stevia... worth checking out: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/310568-liquid-stevia-experiences.html

Cheers!

Been doing more testing in this regard. Finding pure stevia a bit less desirable when used for anything more than mild sweetening. The creamy/vanilla juices I was working with didn't really need much, but now I'm working on some citrus flavored juices and they need more to attain a truly "fructose" type of sweetness. At the higher concentrations the stevia bitterness and atty residue taste starts to come into play. Not so much the bitterness, mostly the atty residue taste.

For beverages and stuff my sweetener of choice is Truvia, which is actually mostly erythritol with just a bit of stevia, because erythritol is only 70% as sweet as sugar and stevia something like 200%. What I like about erythritol is that the taste is very clean, very similar to real sugar. So, I'm gonna pick up a big ol' bag of erythritol crystals and do some experimentation:)

Happy Vaping!
