I think it was an M8 x 1 tap size. I don't have my stuff here, I'm sure Sawlight could check it.

'Course the tap will cost you enough to buy several packs of carts, and V4L will just replace it on your next order anyway, so... ;)

The connection method would have to hold it under pressure, simple contact isn't going to give you a reliable electrical connection.

I noticed when I received my shipment yesterday, some of my carts were a bit rough to actually screw on.. I had to use a little bit of force to get them all on the way.

Yeah I got this too.. But for the carts that were hard to screw on, they went on easily on another battery that was from a different creation date.

I didn't want to force one on a battery, so whenever the cart doesn't want to go on smoothly, I'll grab another battery until I find one that's a good fit..

The other problem is you need a bottoming tap, more money, plus you have to pull the pin out of the center of the carto, which might ruin it.

Plus for $8 and shipping: MSC Item Detail I can't say it would be worth it.

I think it's actually an M8 x .75. At least that's the die I use for making battery connections....

Amazon.com: 8 MM x .75 High Speed Steel Bottoming Tap: Victor Machinery Exchange

But yer right, you'd have to remove the pin to do it, which would mean you'd have to remove the wire, and resolder it. So... no die.. I mean dice :)
